So, another idea for the helping with those nasty killer fleets The idea is that if you lose ships against aliens / reavers / missions you get some of the ships worth back as salvage in credits. - you get 35% of your losses back as salvage from the wreckage (credits). Not applicable if insurance is payed. Losses = the value of your fleets modified by the resupply bonuses. Marines not included.

Personally, I think it's not enough :-)
However, beggars can't be choosers ... especially when you're lost a really big ship

This idea would be good only if being applied to somebody who doesnt really know how to play yet and doesnt really know what power missions/aliens/encounters they can do. If this is an experienced player, they should have known better not to attack something too powerfull for them

you want everything handed to you on a f**k**g platter instead of learing the game the way it is, its not supposed 2 be easy. everyone else had to learn the game the same way u did. except for some there were no guides around...

no i wouldnt really consider myself a new player. still learning yes, but not new. im saying that if the experienced players got this then the fact that they screwed up doesnt matter as much, but with enough experience(2 rounds) you should be able to know what your limits are

yes u should know your limits. but that dont take into account the unknown of killer fleets. which can hit u no matter how experienced u are.

So, I guess it's a good idea then We start at 35% and we add a commander ability so you can upgrade that by max 150% => 35*1.5 = 52.5%

I think it is a bad idea, already people like spayed who really know what to do max out really fast, if you reimburse people for losing ships it will only speed up the server.
Maybe to improve the use of marines, all marines on ships destroyed in PvE use escape pods and you get a 100% refund on them. So that losing a ship with or without marines won't matter in your loses.
