- Captured ships in pvp are a clone of the enemy fleet blueprint, and contain all systems installed.
- Chance of capture / exloding is not affected by marines on board.

- There is a higher chance of capture of enemy ships in pvp now. Mission boarding not affected by this update.
- Chance of exploding is higher in Galaxy combat vs. Fleet systems.
- Chance of exploding is lower when remote / full assaulting the enemy mothership.

Update only on SO Main for now.

well that is a good thing, so we can now capture 0 marine ships.
this will add the possibilty (even though a small one) to actually for once earn on boarding someone.

thx emi, even if it didnt bring it back the way spayed wanted (yet) it is an improvment. 1

I dont understand why chance of capture isnt based on the marines onboard?  Surely chance of capture would be affected by the numbers of attacking and defending marines?

Can we get some version of this on SOWARS pls?  More profit from attacking means more attacking - so its a very good thing for SOWARS.

So it no longer matters how many marines you do or don't have you can lose your ship no matter what ?

The reason I asked is because it also implies the opposite that I can capture a fully marined ship with just 1 marine.

Which was exactly my point.

If I send a a small ship in with 1 billion marines against a large ship with 5 trillion marines - your telling me my chance of capturing it isnt related to the fact that Im outnumbered 5 thousand to one?

I dont quite understand why this would be so, or why you would want it to work that way?

You first have to kill all enemy marines, when all are dead you have a chance it will self destruct, and if you capture it some still can go lost like you captured 234 ships out of 23432 ships.

In the past when the enemy had no marines it would always selfdestruct, now given the fact you kill all marines on the enemy fleet it does not care for the capturing chances how much marines he had.

- Chance of capture / exloding is not affected by marines on board.

Ok - so expounding the above sentence, it means (?);

When a ship is captured, there is a chance of it exploding, or being commandeered - the probability either of these two events occuring is independent of the initial numbers of marines.

Is this what Emi meant?

So the chance of capture is still related to the number of marines, but after its captured its chance of self destruct is independent of the initial number of marines - sounds like its possibly a fixed percentage, not affected by any variable?

Your not using the words right ^^

You board an enemy fleet, wheter the boarding is succesfull is based on if your marines are capable of killing all enemy marines. (no chance here, just a trigger effect)

So either your boarding failed, or your boarding is succesfull.

When you have boarded party was succesfull you have a chance enemy ships selfdestruct. When they dont you capture the enemy ships, although you will not have all the numbers as some ships will get destroyed during the fight. Or sometimes all ships get destroyed during the fight.

In here the boarding failure/ succes is the same as it always was. The chances on capturing is not determined by the number of marines anymore, like in the past you could never capture a ship with no marines.

OK - thanx FTP that clears it up for me.  I didnt understand what constituted a successful boarding attack, now I do.

So, check my understanding here again Ill paraphrase you.

1.  A successful boarding attack occurs when you reduce enemy marines to zero during the attack, or if the ship(s) has/have no marines.

2. After a successful boarding attack there is a probability that the ship will self destruct (this is independent of the starting number of marines, other unknown factors may influence this probability)

3. If the ship doesnt self destruct it becomes "captured".

Hmm - looks right.  Ok - didnt know you had to eliminate all the enemy marines to make a successful boarding attempt.  I rarely use marine attacks - I usually just shoot the enemy ships down - a lot less messing around.
