Story:
An unknown alien race has found its way into the Galaxy. They are attempting invasion. Incursion detected in various systems in the Galaxy.

Incursion details:
Waves of alien ships are entering trough the alien artificial wormhole, invading a specific system.
The Council has approved opening up an experimental warp gate to the Incursion system. The warp gate has the ability to transport any commander to the Incursion system to assist in the fight against the enemy.
Arriving at the Incursion system, you notice the Incursion worm hole. Further detailed scans (Full System Scan) reveal the alien ships in the system. New alien ships arriving every few minutes.

- Each Incursion alien fleet can drop very nice loot including powerful items, segments / command points.
- Alien Queen in the last wave of Incursion with a nice reward.
- The commanders in the Incursion system will probably fight each other or at least make the others warp away to get as much loot as possible for them or their alliance.
- Special ability of Incursion: The aliens have deployed a device to negate the protection of any and all motherships hiding in nebulae in the Incursion system. The nebulae protection will not work in the Incursion system.

Objective:
Acquire as much reward / technology as possible while defending the Galaxy from the alien Incursion. A space mercenary's life.
Increase the PvP battles while concentrating the Incursion elements in the same system and increasing competition for the Incursion rewards for the defense of the system / destruction of alien Incursion fleets.

Will these incursions happen at a set server time? Sounds like they will.

That won't be good.

- Incursion will  happen at random times trough the day, and each incursion can last from 30 minutes to 3 hours.
- Each Incursion will have a boss, Alien Queen etc. and the waves are the Incursion phases that will lead to the final boss wave.
- There will be a total of 12 hours of Incursion each day.
- When an Incursion is in progress, the first line of the News will persist with this news: Incursion in progress... Details
- Clicking on details takes you to a page where Incursion is explained, and a button will enable you to use the Warp Gate provided by the Council to assist in the system defense against Incursion.
- When the next wave spawns, there will be low level as well as mid and high level alien fleets to fight.
- Once in the Incursion area, a timer will display ETA for next wave. This will ensure that everyone will know when the next wave will come and because of the 3 seconds delay in attacks if there are more commanders in Incursion all will have a chance to attack the alien fleets.
- ETA will not be exact, after ETA has run out it can take up to 5 more minutes for Incursion fleets to appear. This will give time for the other commanders to secure the position and eliminate the competition if at all possible as the competition can and will use the Warp Gate to return to Incursion area if they warp away.
- Rewards will depend on alien fleet power fought, but with a very high random effect, with even small fleets droping nice loots.
- News will also update in the event of a very high or extremely high loot drop

Are the systems that suffer incursions random. If you are logged out in a system, is there a chance that an Incursion will appear in that system ... Because if you are not online an Incursion event in your system will mean you can get attacked every 3 secs by other players, with no chance of Neb.

Zero'd fleets and Raided to Zero Workers/Stash ... Not good.

Will an Incursion Event warp anyone already in that sytem ? What about Bases already in that system, system fleets .. what about building bases etc ?

Good question. My guess is the commanders in the system at the time of the Incursion will be evacuated, warped out to random stars to clear the Incursion system. Their mothership AI will spot the incoming Incursion and warp them out. But of course you won't be zeroed right away if you do jump into Incursion and are meet by heavy enemy commander presence as an attack in the same system is by default a full assault attack, so the warp evade chances apply.


- the Incursion star system will be random
- the aliens will make Incursion in system that has no station present
- the building of station during Incursion will not be possible
- system fleets won't have any effect during Incursion but will not be deploy-able during Incursion. If there are system fleets present when Incursion starts, they will retreat to the commanding mothership.

Well once we get all the project details on paper and start the coding I figure it will be a week on coding to implement / test it.
For this kind of update, we will be opening the test server for a couple of days to test Incursion once complete.

All in all, the project should be done in 2 weeks, hopefully we will have it ready before Christmas  1

Now please take the time and point out any difficulties we may encounter, like Tzarkoth did, your comments were really helpful thank you.

Will the alien fleet power grow as each new wave comes in, and once you enter into the incrusion do you have the abilty not to fight it like an encouter, or once you warp there you are automatically fighting the alien waves no matter how great the FP, and what are the expected FP for each wave going to be?

maby not a random warp maby warp 2 the nearest allaince or own base?

I think the buffer between PvP attacks should be adjusted out beyond the 3 secs it currently is. You could, as currently stands, get attacked by 20 people in 1 minute ... The main reason not to attack is that counters are deadly ... But if you get attacked 20 times in 1 minute, it's probably the end of you as far as SpaceO is concerned ... Concentrated assaults against specific players from Alliances or teams of Allied players can and will cripple other players.

Thats exaggerating the point though .. All it would take is hits from 2-4 players to destroy someone. That's even before we factor in people just racking up bounty bragging rights with alts.

have a 30 seconds to 1 minute neb this would stop you being attacked and to rebuy fleet, or just to get out if its that bad of an attack.

 also how do you know how strong the invasion will be, if its been said i havent understood is it like encounter wher it will reach a certain fp or just keep going up  confused

- Evasive maneuvers, when you take a lot of damage and enter the nebula that is negated in Incursion, the mothership AI will enter evasive maneuvers and can not be attacked for 1 minute to give the victim time to resupply / counter / get away.
- The alien waves will appear in the Full System scan / Full assault room like blinking red alien fleets. Clicking them will open up the war screen to attack them.
- basically the whole Incursion battle will happen in the Full System scan / Full assault room. In the star system you will see the Incursion wormhole, clicking on it takes you to Full System scan.

Could you make the evasions 2 minites instead of 1 people like me who have no choice but to use dial up can be attacked 1-3 times when our internet is running slow which it often does where I'm at. wounded1 wounded1 wounded1
