My first ever post after running around these boards for a while now. Hi I'm Andrew from Cleveland, Ohio. I've just recently got into this game and I need some advice on what I'm doing right or wrong with my ships. So here is one experiment that I think might be OK. Let me know:
"The No. 27" 175 Hull
Total Attack - 108.105 Cost per ship- 28.917 Accuracy - 14% ABS - 24%
No. 27 Pack (Core) Weight - 85 Cost - 2 Energy Gen - 28k
No. 27 Case (Shields) ->x2<- Weight - 15 a peice Cost - 1 a peice Energy Req - 6833 ABS - 19%
Special Blend No.27 (Special) Weight - 25 Cost - 2 Defense- +32 Hit Points - +274 Def% Bonus - 2% Energy Required - 6246
Lighters (Weapons)->x5<- Weight- 7 a peice Cost- 7 a peice Energy req - 1761 Attack - 22759 ACU - 14%
I'm not too experienced in this game yet and i'm just looking for some expert advice. I've tried these in some real low lvl missions and they have survived OK but I need some advice to try and really step it up. Am I missing something or are my priorities mixed up or what? Haha. Well I guess thats it. Thanks in advance.

I'm not that expeienced compared to the top ones, but I am know my way around the designing ships and supply two alliances with designs . My major complaint is that it doesn't have enough hitpoints. If you use more armour you will gain more hitpoints than using special, at least for a ship this small.

As stated above.. don't use that much defense. An armour might even suit your swarm better. As for the ACU, you could lower that a little and raise your attack.

My numbers say his ACU is just about perfect, if not a tad low. :-\
Also, I thought defense was best for swarmers because you're going to be buying a ton of them and that way they could pile up their total damage absorb points instead of using each one's hp individually.

yes, you want defense on swarmers, but you need hp to back those up too.

Hey Ultimagasan, I tested the design and idk if they were typos or what but the powercore weight is 83, and the cost is 200. The shield Abs% is 16% instead of 19%. Overall it's a pretty decent design.

make it with only 1 weapon, unless you plan on trying to raise the ABS through the 2nd to 5th weapons, then it is like using the sheilds and such. remember, every weapon you add reduces total attack by 1%, so here your attack is being reduced by 5%.
also, it has been my experience that dealing with defense on swarmers, the second they punch through your defense, they will 99/100 times have enough firepower to blow up the rest of your fleets hp, so I guess either go HP, or defense, with this low a ship.
and also, I would keep the special. whenever I say use armour for really small ships, normally that ship is less then 20 space big. so ya, REALLY tiny, I had extremely useful swarmers before using defense at 50 space or so. just remember, transferring defense to hp in a special, 1 point of defense will equal 50 points of hp. so with that big a special, it can go up 1874 HP without any additional cost. BUT, if you do go with an armour, MAKE SURE, you reroute the energy to the weapon, and not just let it sit unused.

you might what to use armor enstead of a special to get your hps. for small ships armor gives better hit points than specials. but get all you can out of a special
