In my opinion PvP would improve if there was not such a large gap in PvE rewards amongst players.  Although there will always be some people who are better at this than others, I have two suggestions that should help.

1. Start with more.  Have everyone start with a few billion credits so that EVERYONE can do encounters right from the get go and so that EVERYONE should be able to build a space station and mining facility within the first week.  New players get way too far behind early on in the round, which means that people who know how to play have no one to attack without using tinies, which means no one has a chance at the counter attack. (I also hate that I am having to explain to players 2 months into the round about how to do encounters and build stations, I should be able to help people do this much sooner) (the game is boring if all you know how to do is mission contracts worth 120.000 credits or less!, lots of people leave because they get so far behind so quickly)

2. Keep people's power more even during the round.  Create a Global Jack Pot.  Every Gold Transport done in the galaxy adds 10% of its rewards to the Global Jack Pot, each week the Jack Pot unloads and pays out an equal amount of credit to EVERY active player's SAB.  What this means is that the top players do not get too far ahead and that the bottom players have lots of credits to raid to boost them up and get them into even playing grounds with others.

These two changes will help make the commanders in the galaxy closer in power, which in itself will help increase PvP because there are more people to attack in your range and more people who are fairly matched to attack you in your range.

firstly there are no gt's in the galaxy so that wont really have an effect. but the idea does have merit.

if everyone started with several billion credits it would just give the better players even more of an advantage.

Good point on the Gold Transports, how about for every 1000 FP destroyed in all missions 1 Credit is added to the JackPot?

If everyone could do encounters, aliens and build stations right at the beginning, there would be less encounters, aliens and good station locations for the better players.  Wouldn't this make it more of a challenge to get ahead with everyone doing some PvP against you?  I see nothing wrong with the good PvP players getting ahead, I think that is what we are aiming for.

I like this idea for two reasons:

1. It would definately help the new/inexperienced players get a good start at the beginning of the round.  This would help more new players actually stay and continue playing.

2. It would allow players that have screwed something up and put themselves way behind in the round a chance to rise back up through the ranks instead of having no chance to get anywhere once they mess up one time.

Maybe starting with just 1 bil at the beginning would be best, as then everyone would be able to do some encounters and missions, but the good players wouldnt be able to get too much of a head start, as they wouldnt be able to clear reavers for at least a few days.  Also I think that the donation credit rate should be lowered quite a bit at the beginning of the round, as that is how many players get themselves to the top.

haha yea we are at the top cause we donate, same old same old.....

i do like the idea of a server jackpot sorta thing. but it should only go to people that logged on during that week. but it shouldnt be over powered. i destroy quad's of power everyday and yet nobody else in the server has even earnt 1 quad yet.

i dissagree with people having more credits at the start. its supposed 2 be the start... your not supposed 2 have insane amounts of credits... you are supposed 2 earn them.

Although i agree that it is supposed to be the start, the money you currently recieve at the beginning of the round is not enough to accomplish anything such as getting a station up, in the first week unless you donate.  And i know that there are tons of poeple, myself inluded, who would like a way to be succesfull in this game without having to spend our real money on it.

I like both these ideas.
Though I have to disagree about it not being possible to get a station up in a week from the start.
I definitely agree that if you start with more new players are gonna stay a bit longer.

I never donated and got a station up withing 5 days so it can be done. The hard part is clearing the reavers 12

how about everyone starts with Level 1 Station and Level 1 Mining Facility then

i think the hard part for new players at the beginning is getting the CP needed to research those.  This way all we have to is teach new players to clear reavers, mine and build.

we can still start with the 500.000 credits.

NOOOOOOO!

the whole point of it all getting reset is for you to have nothing... its not supposed 2 be easy to get stuff.. stop complianing and learn how to do it instead of wanting it free at the start...

Okay, I completely understand why you guys want some extra credits or a station when you start. On the surface it would seem that it will keep new players on or will give you a better start.

However, it's a bit like the idea of giving everyone twice the number of turns per minute. It won't change anything at all. The experienced players will use the increase credits to their ad vantage. The experienced players would just grow faster and stronger.

So at the end of the day the start that we have now is actually the fairest.

Keep the ideas coming though because this is the only way we can change the game for the better.

Making accounts with more credits, just allows veterans to build an account and go kill some newer players who don't know what to do with it.

Or allows for even more exploits for a fast start
