ya... have tournaments on the test server all PVP. give everyone like 50 tril creds, some turns and some cp, have turns regenerate like usual and nothing else.
no raiding cuz there could be alt abuse that way. no planets. just ships, research and attacking.
once your zeroed ur out.
heres what i was thinking also:
to enter the tournament, either $1 or 30 days off your gold membership. if you win, you get some game credit or a gold membership, but incentive is always good. emi, you would only gain this way, people would either be paying directly or in the long run when their gold runs out.
would be hella fun...

What's the point of research if you don't have planets. I suppose it could become an asteroid mining fest but having planets in there would make it more fun IMHO (raids, conquering etc). 30 days off gold membership time is a bit high also given it costs $20 for 365, so 18 days for $1. Don't allow alts at all, increase the worker production rate, 2 turns/min instead of 1 and most of all, make it all about big ships blowing up other big ships  ahydra |

Or the winners are calculated from the cost of shipping destroyed over the course of the game. Time limit on the round.

actually i was thinking more like once you enter, your in. if you dont sign up before it starts you cant join until next time.
to solve for the people coming on late: for all credits sitting in stash or on hand you lose 10% per day or somat like that
