I have an idea to implement a total assets instead of total power to determine the round winners for the next rounds.

This will take into consideration several achievements that each commander made.
This will not affect the total power and how it is calculated, it will simply display total assets when clicking on Top Ranking and make the Halls according to total assets achieved.
Total assets is a measure of how well the commander did in all areas of activity.
I think this will make awarding of the prizes more fair, and will enable future increase of prizes.

Please express your opinions and any improvements to the idea.

- SO Main round winners: (determined by the total assets value)
  -> Ship values (real ship value, depending on discount cost to build)
  -> marines on ships
  -> credits on mining facility, secret base, planets
  -> workers on secret base, planets
  -> mothership segments
  -> planets capacity
  -> items total value, items, trade goods
  -> technology total costs invested (credits, turns, CP)
  -> commander experience & CP left and invested into skills
  -> turns left

Well I think getting credits for having turns left isn't great, could cause alot more people to sit out d day.
I'm all for getting credit for what you've invested and researched in. Hopefully this will give the people who played and invested whole round more of a chance than some who just suddenly join and power up.
The planets capacity doesnt need to be included as the number of colonists already counts.
Items values not either, you already have the option of selling them to increase your mothership power.

well i think its bs.. would be a crap update.. people wouldnt even have to worry about anything on dday you just sit around..

I think this would be good. Actually rewarding people for all the work they did not just who can buy the most p-ships the latest at the end of D-Day.

naw... all the fun is in the last 2.5 secs of dday. dday wheres the real action takes place. maybe because ive made top 10 twice but never had the assets to make it im against this, but basically with this all you have to do is get cash and sit with 0 ships and ull win. way against this update.

exactly what im saying.. no sense in that.. dday is about buying pships, hybrids swarmers, trying to get the most fp and still be safe.. hitting people at the last second to try and kill people

Well as I said I'm against the parts that will result in people sitting d day out, but one or two aspects of the proposed update could work ok.

Emi,
I actually like your idea and I think it can be implemented in combination with having dday.
So you still have dday and people will still need to pship up in the last few second. That part is quite fun and attacking people all day is fun too lol

However, having your "asset" calculated and using this in combination to dday fp is good. Not sure what should or should not be included though.

Also one thing emi:

If people don't like this update, maybe what you can do is still display major asset in the HOF. I would love to know who had the biggest planet...or who had the most creds in total. Or who used the most number of turns. Or who had the best ships etc etc. These should not affect who wins or lose buy may add another dimension to the game

I think Dday still should have fp incorporated otherwise if it's just resources what's going to stop folk from buying a top spot? A mix of resources, skills and fp would make sense and keep the suspense of Dday. Factoring in turns though I don't see the point of.

but to keep d day active maybe you could get extra points for the amount of ship costs you have destroyed..

by cost of ships destroyed i mean, if you destroy a 100mill ship that gives you 1.6mill power you would get lets say 100 points, but if you destroyed a 2mill powership that still gave you the 1.6mill power you would only get 2 points??

sound fair??
would just give another incentive for pvp thru the round aswell.

I'm not good with the details but I do like the 33% split ie. Winning the round is about how good you do in the round overall and not what your score is on dday.

maybe we could have a section in the hall for the winners of the individual sections aswell??

i like the last idea better but will you go by ships destroyed on dday or throughout the round.. if its throughout the round the top few guys dont stand a chance because they have very little people to attack
