Question: How freeform do you like your freeform video games?
I like my games fairly linear. - 1 (7.1%)
There should be some sidequests, but nothing too intrusive. - 0 (0%)
I prefer a pretty even balance between the main arc and the freeform content. - 4 (28.6%)
I like to have a main story arc, but it should be optional and nonintrusive. - 2 (14.3%)
I want a beginning and an end-goal, everything else should be up to me. - 5 (35.7%)
I want to be able to decide everything, the game should simply provide the world to do it in. - 2 (14.3%)

Most of you have probably experienced freeform or nonlinear games, such as Oblivion, Fallout, or GTA, at least once in your life, so--just out of curiousity, I will pose a question:

How freeform do you like your freeform video-games?

(Added:) Feel free to elaborate below.

I like my games with a story, that you can take as long as you want to complete, yet have all these sidequest like stuff to do, but not feel you NEED to. Fable 2 and Sonic Unleashed are great examples of this. You can go do your own thing, and the main story is always there, so you can just plow through it if you wish and ignore everything else, or you can do everything else and only touch on the story when you feel like it.

i voted I prefer a pretty even balance between the main arc and the freeform content.
