Ignorance is bliss where tis folly to be wise...

i know that this is two suggestions in a row... but they were both sort of spur of the moment ideas and i realize both probly aren't worth the time to implement in the near future but here goes. in my travels across the galaxy i have come across many systems who's star = a black hole. so i'm thinking that when emi implements gravity along with planets etc that maybe this could be extended to include a VERY simplified version of wormholes (screw the actual theories behind em and figuring out where they would actually lead just assign one to another or random it). basically what i want to see is a way to quick jump from one end of the galaxy to another at certain locations and i figured that this would make more sense then some kind of galactic train-station.

sry if this next bit is a little off topic, but if system buildings are ever extended to include new structures, an option could be a massive "star gate" or some other kind of artificial wormhole.

alright this is all i could think of and i'll try not to think of anything new for a couple weeks.

thx for putting up with me

-edit-
as to the feasibility of something like this and the current game engine, the mother-ship is already able to do emergency warps that cost zero turns... this would just be an extension of the same technology/the natural occurrences that inspired it's development.

right... something like that... i like the idea of a fast travel system... but i think that the details need some serious hammering out from my original idea. maybe you can build something in a black hole system that can link to another building at a black hole within 50 turns and distance could be upgraded with tech level/moduales and you could chain them (including those of your allies).

Wormholes would be a great way to move around Quadrants and Galaxies. As I've been reading, it seems that there are more and more players signing up, and with that, travelling through wormholes would also be an obvious way to increase the playing space by having more Galaxy maps. This will give more encounters and more encryption missions and could be accessed and used the same way we use the Quadrant maps. It could also have galaxy maps at different levels instead of having to use the sort button for the mission level your looking for and where you end up on the map could be radom. 7
