at lower powers you can do higher % missions. and at higher power you lose ships at much lower % missions. but now with the base power Vs. fleet power thing where your infostructure helps you win missons it would seem that for example if your base to fleet power ratio was 50% even and you could do 40% missions all day long when you have lets say 100 mill total power. why is it that at higher powers even when your ratio is the same or really close to it cant you do higher % missions successfully? because i was doing 40% at around 300 mill power with around a 60% fleet power to 40% base and didnt lose any ships and now im running at almost 8 bill power with about 60% fleet power to 40% base but i cant do over 5% without loseing a ship. if i could get a reason or some kind of advise to how you can keep doing high % missions at high powers i would be very greatfull.

Same is abit weird I bough a new ships did 70 missions with it I failed 7 times, so 1 on 10 aint that bad. Then I get a mission that kills the first ship :S

Before this I didnt lose a ship in 6 weeks, and my base power got only stronger, and I could buy my entire fleet 3 times with the money I have, so this just sux.

it just seems to me that if your ratio for fleet power to base and your ratio for attack to hitpoints are the same then your success rate should be the same... just a logical assumption there.... i really think thats how it should be though

Well today again I got a row of succesfull mission of 30 in a row, I got almost 3 trill profit and I needed 1 more mission to get that profit. So I tell my self last mission.....

Killer fleet 2 ships destroyed.

And its not that my ships sux or sumthing: FTP(#5182) encountered the Gold Transport, engaging 348.541.669.421 fleet power. I had as much fleet power as that encounter at the time I did it spread over 10 fleets.

that could be teh problem 10 fleets for missions means each fleets power is a smaller %age of your total power, so mission fleets have a better chance to get lucky and slaughter ur ships... with 1 ship you could do very high percent missions... you just wouldnt win them cause of 1 fleet.

well I personally like 9 fleets for missions best atm ... since if I find  a 10 fleet mission my own best fleet (number 1 fleet) will prolly kill tle last fleet of the oposing force anyway.

sure deviding ur fleet power does decrease the % in each fleet but since u just need to destroy a certain % number of the mission u can prolly do as good with 5 to 10 fleets ... - that more fleets (up to 9) that better I guess because u can attack more oposing fleets ...

e.g.

own side number of fleets:              possible attacks on oposing fleets:
1                                                  2
2                                                  3
3                                                  4
4                                                  5

and so on up to 9/10 and than 10/10.

since the missions send u on avarage like 8 fleets u need at minimum 4 own fleets and up to 9 fleets total - 9 fleets would be in the best position most of the time - exspecaily since on higher lvls u start facing 1.6 Q ships in fleet 1 mostly being the same as u fly ur self ... so u cant destroy oposing fleet 1 ... u need to kill the rest flaying against u ...

i get what your saying broni and i might try useing maybe 5 fleets with a larger HP lead but i still dont have a real answer to the problem at hand... why is it at high powers with the same BP to FP ratio and the same ATT to HP ratio and the same number of fleets and ships you cant do just as high % missions?? it honestly makes no sense.. if it works at one power level it should work all round.

the requirement for resources vs (active) fleet power raises not linear its "expodential" like a parable ... - so u need much better ships and very much more resources to win missions that more fleet power u have ... - atm I can do 11% missions which I even can win - but I also can loose a ships on a 3% mission ... (made that exp already ...) - so If I would reserve my fleets and would buy some billions priced ships I could do prolly missions in the 100+ % - but I do better with my present low % ...

for me personally the way i excelled in rankings was using a 3 fleet system i devised last round to perfection i use 1 main ship with 2 support ships that have half power as the main ships
so
main ship costs 10bil creds
support cost 6bil
support cost 6bil

interresting borg and it worked last round as I know, but what about the large number of missions when u face more than 5 or 6 fleets? - I mean don t u loose that ones automatical because u just can not fight half of the mission? ...

at lower powers i used the same thing as borg is saying and it worked good because then oyu only need to kill around 30% of enemy fleet so 3 fleets is fine.

I personally feel that 3 fleets is enough for doing missions... because you may have 10 fleets with a total power of 20.000.000 (an average of 2.000.000 fp per fleet) and the mission is 19.000.000 power but might only consist of 3 fleets (an average of 6.333.333 fp per fleet) your fleets are in danger of getting slaughtered... just a thought... 16
