To keep it interesting, there will be some updates for the new round.

A new power formula will be adopted, similar to the one on SO Elite, that will make power ships less desirable / more expensive to power up artificially. Power towards top 10 ranking at the end of a round will be more asset oriented and less power ship oriented, making round last a bit longer.

In order to increase the player base of SO Main and maintain more updates to the game, SO PVE / Wars / Elite registration will be temporary closed. You can still access those servers and transfer Gold days.

Updates will be focused on SO Main, improving gameplay and the newbie experience.

i hope you reduce the number needed to active dday as well then.. because this is really going to drag out rounds.. i think players will lose interest in longer slower rounds

We'll see how it goes, it shouldn't increase round times that much.

The mission npc fleets have been updated to the new formula, so they spawn accordingly.

yeah this is certainly going to make rounds last muuuch longer.. I really think it's going to run more people off.

i am pretty sure he did this to change the pships so i couldnt kill them at the end of rounds again. so give him a chance

The update was done to spice things up in this round and see how it goes. It makes power ships less powerful, pirates / aliens . reavers a bit more challenging.

I suggest starting with interactive non-combat encounters until you get a decent fleet. If you want to build a planet / station, find an area with minimum Reavers, I stumbled upon this one (NAM-963 - Nu Westerlund), 25k or so Reavers, and go from there.

I certainly don't want to increase grinding, just make it fun and challenging.

Really though.. The player base here isn't what it used to be. But theres a bigger galaxy more room to have to jump around to find encounters. and way too many stars and resources for the number of active players

I think its much more challenging, (frustrating at times) and want to keep it as is. although i do want my pships to do something, some protection.
