The 2010 Fifa World Cup will be underway 2moro with the hosts South Africa taking on Mexico, followed by Uruguay entertaining France. There is no clear favorite in the tournament, but a number of teams have potential to win it all or place well. first of all, I think Brazil will beat Spain in the Final. Argentina and Germany will play in the 3rd place game with Germany taking it. There are key injuries to a lot of contenders. Captains of Germany and England Michael Ballack and Rio Ferdinand are ruled out for the World Cup. Ivory Coast star Didier Drogba broke his arm a week ago in a friendly, but he is not ruled out yet.  Mexico Striker Guillermo Franco is expected to start tomorrow.

My Predictions- Mexico 2 0 South Africa
                      France 2 1 Urugray

Let me know what you think about the Cup.

Mexico and South Africa was a 1-1 draw. The Mexicans outplayed the South Africans most of the match, but in the 55th minute Tshbalala finished a beauty of a goal. In the 79th, poor defending from south africa allowed Rafa Marquez to equalize. Just at the end of the game lone striker Mphela hit the post on a breakaway that would have won the match.

France and Urugray went into a goalless draw with Urugray putting on a magical display of defending to earn the draw. Thierry Henry called for a handball, ironically, late in the game but the ref did not award a penalty. Good game, plenty of half chances.

Group A Standings                                              My Picks
1 South Africa 1pt                                          South Korea 1 1 Greece
2 Mexico 1pt                                                  Argentina 2 0 Nigeria
3 France 1pt                                                  England 3 1 USA
4 Urugray 1pt

Wikipedia is not an official source on anything. It is simply users such as you or myself who offer their *sometimes* educated opinions on topics. Therefore Wikipedia, at this time, is inadmissible as evidence

Good way to really wind up the brits calling it that!!!  The correct term is Association Football, shortened to football. Invented by the English many many years ago before the old colony accross the water decided to  'reinvent Rugby with padding' and call it American Football 16

As far as this weekends matches, my predictions are.....

S Korea 1 Greece 1
Argentina 2 Nigeria 1
England 1 USA 0
Algeria 2 Slovenia 1
Serbia 1 Ghana 3
Germany 2 Australia 0
