Some say the world will end in fire,
some say in ice,
but from what ive tasted of desire,
i hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
i think i know enough of hate,
to say that for destruction of ice
is also great,
and will suffice.

It only decreases efficiency, the higher the pollution on the planet, the more production is wasted.
What took 1 production point may take 2 production points when pollution is at 100%. At 200%, it takes 3 production points to produce 1 unit of ore.

why is it when i scan a planet 3 times, i find out nothing about it? Is it because the planets owner has a high cloaking level?

No it just takes a lot of scans or a very high scan level IIRC

funny how it's easier to find a secret base then to see what's on a planet... huh?

planets that hold trillions of people would have to be the diameter of saturn 16

the magnetic forces of such a large object would cause scanner to short out at short distances, otherwise ships could just bomb the planetary defences from space instead of sending marines in
