Either works IXX is 10 - 1 + 10 = 19, XIX is 10 + (10 - 1) = 19 Kenquinn, just because it might make sense does not mean it is correct. Similar logic would say that IIIII is just as correct as V, or that IVVIVI is just as good as XIV. Now, it was said at the beginning of this game that we would go by the modern usage, which states that 19 = XIX. If we don't want to play by those rules, we can very easily change them. Why don't we ask everybody? Do we want to relax the rules? Or do we want to stick with standard modern usage?P.S. VII |
