It would be great if anyone can see who is online now. This list should not consist the fleet power. Just names.

The fact that it is liked doesn't matter, it's is it actually needed that does. This would probably waste a lot of bandwidth, so it isn't really practical.

actually...  it would not be a waste IF, the person you are trying to see is neither in your alliance OR 30 ranks above or below you.  otherwise, you can see if they are on-line or not anyway.  another way is if you have message sent from them, because it will tell you there as well.  so in reality, this may be a waste, but only because it is possible to do it fairly easily anyway.
