I was just in a conversation with Kryologic and Chicpea and we had this little idea probably already been thought of but i'm english and slow lol, with all the argueing about killer fleets and mission contracts only giving insurance why not bring in a system where a player has the option to buy insurance for his ships or even put in command points for it?

For instance you could pay 10% extra for your ships for insurance and add a skill that will increase the amount you get back from a loss you could make it so the cp raises to a max of 50 - 80% and if people dont put it on or use insurance then noone can moan that they didnt get compensated from being hit by a killer fleet???

from what i can tell ur basically buying ship insurance...like Geico...except u pay per ship...so u get insurance towards a new one no matter what u lost it in...

you know what... with all this talk about insurance...

how about we just say something that makes a LOT more sense:  you get the credits from salvage from the remains of the destroyed ships.  in a battle, the player that wins (or in the case of missions, the player wins) he will get 30-40% of the value of all destroyed ships in battle.  this will:
-give lots more reason to attack people (because now you can get credits off of blowing up ships regardless)
-give out bigger rewards in regular missions and encounters
-make winning a killer fleet mission very well worth it

and if your just going to say that 30-40% of the enemy ships in a mission is going to be 10x the mission reward... perhaps your right...  then why in the world are we facing ships worth 3 times the amount of the mission reward itself? (perhaps 10% is better)

anyway, with the low % of credits actually obtained, if someone did use it to transfer credits, it would mean losing a LOT more credits then if they just did it through market or something else.

lol, insurance contract back, that's funny. Of cours enot, do you get the contract back in real life? no. but nice try. I'd still like to hear what sir emi thinks about this (and a new forum admin, since Admin hasn't been on since the 28th of november)

ok, ok, I was just being sneaky.  that idea is really just adapted from my earlier idea of the PWNAGE bonus, lol.

but still, it would make PvP 100x better, where you gain stuff you can use by attacking... give it some thought... pleeeeaaaaaase? 1
