tip 1 all weight on powercore but around 100

heres a good tip to what systems should have

computer
2-3 computers

for 10 ACU
7 acu 8 wt
5 acu 8 wt

for 15 ACU
10 acu 8 wt
10 acu 8 wt

for 20 ACU
14 acu 8 wt
12 acu 8 wt

for 25 ACU
16 acu 8 wt
18 acu 8 wt

for 30 ACU
20 acu
20 acu

for 35
24 acu
22 acu

sheilds
these are tricky but with some help from other designers ive learned thats its best to use a bunch of smaller shields and have one really big one sticking out like for 69% abs (what i needed last round on my ships to get 80%) use 9 34% shields and 1 38%

special
great trick i use

with 21 weight you do energy * 0.3-99 for how much hp it has and you should have a really cheap system

weapon
energy * 0.3 for anything over 45% acu

and for added cost like
456.844

you do attack-45684

all but the last number and you get a design thats 1-10 credits if its 1000 you add 1 to attack

and for powercore you do weight * 400 - 5200 and cost is 200 credits i usually do for weight the overall weight of the ship - 150 and use all the added weight left over from special shields and computers on wepons because at most youll have 50 weight with a big ship and thats not a problem

From everything i've seen about shipbuilding...this stratagy is everywhere.  1

There are some modifications you could do depending on your style

i never actually tried with just 100 space left, but i assume you can get better HP and attack since you will have more energy.

The ships i build (and i learned this from Ars, and everyone i talked to) have 1000 free space after the powercore to use less energy on the upgrades

Borg, the only question i have for you is, is weight important, or is the extra energy (which might not be that much more) sufficient to get a better upgrade for less weight, or are they both the same?

For the sheild I suggest having a total of 8. 4 different absorb.
ex.
2*30acc sheilds
2*31acc sheilds
2*32acc sheilds
2*33acc sheilds

it allways worked fine for me 12
