I was just curious to know the general consensus from the more experienced players on the use of marines.  Are they effective?  At what level?

Thanks!   1

You should keep your Superships at least 50% full or marines 100% is ideal. But if your dealing with non super ship fleets you don't want to fill them up completely. Since if some of them die and you have too more marines then your ships can carry they extra die.

On boarding attacks you use marines to attack other players with, so if you have beauitifull ships but no marines they are gone in one attack. So mission ships should always have fully marines or atleast 75%

Yeah, I couldn't imagine putting marines on swarmers...but that's good to know about superships.   21 Thanks!

Also, does a board attack give you more segs if you're attacking another player?

Yes, and it gives you a little more than a regular attack, if I remember correctly.

yep more segs.. also the more ships you attack with the more segs you can get.. so put some swarmers behind your superships for a chance to get more segs or more workers and cred if your raiding

Basically, if you have a super ship, put marines on it, or you're going to lose it to boarding parties.

Ah, I didn't know that.  That's good to know, though, thanks!
