Khan Ulric Kerensky was a fair leader of Clan Wolf. He always showed respect to those who were around him. Though he was Warden, he always respected and honored his Crusader brethren. On his face he sported a goatee.
Ulric Kerensky was elected ilKhan after Leo Showers was killed in the bridge of the Dire Wolf flagship cruiser, when the Rasalhague pilot Tyra Miraborg sacrificed herself and flew her SL-15 Shilone into the huge Sovetskii Soyuz Clan flagship. Many warriors died in that event, and Ulric miraculously survived, and was rescued by Star Commander Vladimir's bondsman Phelan.
Ulric was stunned and inspired by Tyra's action, and he later named Dropships after her and her father.
When IlKhan Kerensky led the negotiation for the Battle of Tukayyid and performed Batchall with Comstar Precentor Martial Anastasius Focht, he realized that Focht and the Inner Sphere learned a lot from the Clans and would be a greater threat than expected by most Khans. Ulric decided to steer the Wolf Clan to the Warden faction. The action brought much thinking and some controversy, and encouraged the Ghost Bears to also become Warden, which they did.
Ulric Kerensky had great tactical genius and good leadership skills. His decisions for Clan Wolf battle maneuvers won the Wolve's victory at Tukkayid where most other Clans failed, and moves that led to the Truce of Tukkayid.
As the Falcon's Crusader Khans Crichell and Chistu sought power, they fought hard politically against their strong opponents the Warden led Clan Wolf. Clan Wolf and the Falcons became embroiled in a bitter Trial of Refusal, that became the long and bloody Refusal War.
Ulric Kerensky was charged by certain Crusader Wolves with treason and the attempt of the genocide of the Crusader faction of the Wolf Clan.
On 9 December 3057 Ulric Kerensky was killed on Wotan in a treacherous plot by the politically driven Jade Falcon Khans. Ulric and Vandervahn Chistu went to battle in a Trial of Refusal. Vahn lit Ulric's 'Mech with TAG and ordered his subordinates to open fire. Ulric's 'Mech went down under excessive fire. Sadly, Ulric knew it would come to this, and made plans to save the Wolves. Chistu then had his warriors kill all other Wolves in the vicinity in order to cover Chistu's heinous actions. Among those when fell under massive Falcon fire was Vladimir of the Wards. His Timber Wolf OmniMech was buried under the rubble of fallen buildings. Vlad managed to survive and was rescued from under the debris several days later by Marialle Radick.
Vlad's knowledge of the Jade Falcon treachery eventually led to the impeachment of Elias Crichell who was killed at the hands of Vladimir, and a Trial against Vahn Chistu. In a Warhawk, Vladimir fought Vandervahn Chistu and destroyed him and his Executioner.
Before he died, Ulric had ordered his Warden faction under Phelan Kell to flee to the Inner Sphere, knowing that the overbiased leaders of the Crusader faction would try to battle them to the death, and also that they might not be allowed back into the Clan worlds if they did return.
The now Crusader dominated remainder of the home Clan Wolf was under the usurption of the Jade Falcons. After Vladimir brought before the Clans the evidence of Crichell's corruption and inability to function as a a warrior, he worked to free his Clan which the Falcons had named the Jade Wolves. He fought and killed the deceitful Vandervahn Chistu, and unanimously won the Bloodname Ward. He and Marialle Radick took the reigns of the Crusader dominated home Wolves and freed them from the clutches of the Jade Falcons.
Sadly, the Wolf Clan now lives in two factions, separated by light years of space. Due to factionalism and politics, it is unlikely they will unite anytime soon, though there are members on both sides who desire the reuniting of their brethren.
Though Vlad Ward was very much against Ulric Kerensky's Warden views and wanted him tried for genocide, he had some respect for the old venerable Wolf Khan, and was angered as he saw with his own eyes the murder of Ulric at the hands of the Jade Falcons.
Ulric Kerensky's favorite 'Mech to pilot was the Gargoyle.
