*sigh* i did the math and ya, you guys are right, in a fleet of less then somwhere around 20k ships it is better to go for hp also in order for armor to be max efficient ship has to be pretty big so in order for armor to work better you need (very roughly) 20k+ ships that each cost upwards of 10mil to make armor work better, and even then it only works better against the enemies with less attack then it happens to have armor. oh ya, i also spent 5 hours designing a ship that is half way decent on a side note... seriously, how do i get peeps in to my alliance?

........ alright perhaps my tactics are different, but I like it when my ships come home and I'll pay an extra bil per ship so I don't have to keep replacing a 10mil ship. Small scale, or in a cheep design I totally agree with you, but, in a smarm or even a medium size fleet... every casualty counts and defence stacks (unlike hp).

YES! Thank you so much but I'm sorry, I must beg to differ, defence is most certainly not useless. Thank you for the formulas, I will modify them to include defence. What would be the minimum size of a ship that follows this? On a side note, (since this is a newb help topic) how do you invite people to join an alliance (the botton just doesn't seem to be where i remember it).
*Sorry for asking such stupid questions, like I mentioned earlier, it's been a long time.

*sigh* any ship design tips that aren't in the guides/manuals? Also, maybe new players should start in/neer those systems; you know, instead of having to comb the galaxy for them.

Bah! I've been down that road (I was here when alliances were first being implemented). I started my own (Project RS) and will be recruiting soon. Still... it seems rediculous for new players (or just new acounts) to have to deel with the growing passive threats of the non-reseting universe of SO Wars (the reavers are almost growing as fast as i am and they had a 100mil fleet power head start). I don't know, it seems a little bit unfair to newcomers and makes it almost imposible for them to muscel their way in on established players that got in when the fleets were smaller. Ideas?

Alright, maybe "best" wasn't the best word to use. What i ment to say, is the quickest way to clear hundred mil power reaver fleets considering that I only started my acount a few days ago and I would like to start mining.

I have been with space o since it had under 1500 users, but its been a while and I never really could figure out how to design a ship. Could some one help me figure out the best way to get a 1mil power (well rounded) ship for as few creds as possible? If not then sorry to waste your time but post any "newb" questions you may have here and maybe I (or someone else) can help with them!

Not to add anything to previus discusion but i think that in order to attack a person you need to spend the number of turns that t would take to reach thier posision in the galaxy, or a placed a tracking device on them or something, what gets me is that on the oposite side of the galaxy a person can attack at the same turn loss as someone in the same system.
