Thanks for the help but what I meant was are the 3 computers each 9 weight or 3 weight?

Wait so I still keep about 3 computers and 3 shields right? And if so, is the weight distributed evenly or are each system 9 weight?

I have a question about the shielding and the defence. Is the shield applied to an attack first or is the Defence applied first and then shielding?

I keep hearing different powercore stats from people, some say 90% and some say 40% so I just put it around 50-60% >_>. I'm not sure which is right though.  Thanks alot for the help though

Hey, I'm fairly new to Space Odyssey and I still don't know most of the catches yet but know I most of the basics. So I attempted to design a ship based on little things I gathered here and there in this forum. It would be very appreciated if you could throw some tips my way to put me on the right track.  Opps
*The values for accuracy/abs/hp have already been calculated subtracting the amount for every system added*

System           | Weight   |Energy           |Accuracy |ABS |Hp              |Attack         |Defence |
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Powercore       | 600,013   |240,000,000   |             |       |                  |                 |            |
Computer (X3) | 106,698   |30,001,998     | 29%      |       |                  |                 |            |
Shield(X3)       | 23,248     |3,000,297      |             |52% |                  |                 |            |
Special           | 83,868     |143,997,690   |             |       | 51,583,908  |                 |            |
Weapon          | 539,690    |63,000,006    | 51%      |       |                  | 70,769,200 |            |
Total              | 1,400,013 |240,000,000   | 80%      |52% | 51,583,908  | 70,769,200 |            |

Two of these ships in seperate fleets can do missions with success and no losses, but otherwise I haven't tested it in battle.

Edit: I got rid of the five weapons and the specials and put all the excess energy on the weapon and health, it definitely helped alot, however with the powercore I guess I'm going to have to do that on the next ship.
7  General Talk / Design & Strategy Room / Re: so who trades on the market a lot? on: August 13, 2006, 09:03:54 PM
Hey guys, I've only been playing for a couple days so I may have no idea what I am talking about, but from what I've seen it is almost impossible to lose profit in the market unless there is a lot of competition. Overall when I first started in the market I got a lot of profit and from basically no effort. No matter what CHOAM always buys from you for a profit amount. Sure the percentage of profit drops as you get richer, but I've never seen any below 10%. Eg. The cheapest is paper, which CHOAM starts the auction on at minimum bid 535,000 credits for 1,000,000 units (on the "sell" market). You bid on that auction for the cheapest price that and then you sell it back to CHOAM at the "buy" market for 3,000,000 credits for 1,000,000 units. That's a 560% profit (just for paper, as goods get more expensive profit obviously goes lower and lower, but never exceeds <10% from what I've seen).  Btw never buy products that are under 1,000,000 units, it is very annoying to sell them back, if you have done this I would just force sell them and start over. But then again I'm just a noob so you can disregard everything I've said.
