Most of the vets who keep up either just lurk or moved to the PvE/Wars server.
3  General Talk / General Discussion / Re: List of vets I want to all play in one round - Spayed aint a Vet on: March 06, 2010, 05:44:15 PM
Light's been accused of cheating many times, but Emi cleared him of all charges.  And Light offered for Emi to reset him when he and lamma abused that glitch, however, for whatever reason, it seems Emi didn't. Maybe he felt it wouldn't have affected the game any, since Light rarely attacked first. Or maybe he did and Light just had too much power, idk.

In the end, Light only ever "cheated" once, the glitch that was also heavily abused by Lamma, and many others also abused it, just not the the extent they were rumored to have done so. For whatever reason, Light was seemingly unaffected by Emi's punishment, while Lamma lost a lot from it, others losing a bit. That's that. It doesn't diminish Light's achievements any.

i am not complaining but memoria should split up and fight each other not come together and be invincible. I really dont think it would be that much fun to just own everyone in the game. Just split up play each other make the game fun again. In the old times nobody would all team up in the same alliance. If they did the best players ( Spayed, Tony) would stay out of it and fight them to make the game still interesting. The only time there was an unbeatable allliance in the past and they where the Spaceballs and they were just amazing. So again just split up make the game fun again for others. I have given up this round but next round i am in it to win it. And if memoria is still together i am going to come after u  1

Why the hell would the strongest players divide themselves up and attack each other. This is a game about individual and team strategy, it always has been, thats one thing that's never changed. The problem is, almost all the players with the guts to buckle up and lose all their ships hammering away one or two ships from the big boys are either in that alliance or have quit playing for various reasons. Just watching the forum, game and chat, I've noticed most commanders are scared wimps. you don't attack, you just go fight the computer, and then when they give you a good old fashion beatdown you whine about not being left alone.

Furthermore, I bullshit your "in the old times" speech. I'm older than you, I was here back from round 2 on, even though now I merely observe. There has never been a point when one alliance wouldn't have the most great players, that's how they got to BE the top alliance, they had the best players who worked together and took down the other players who were any good, allowing them to keep their spot. The reason it seems every good player is in that alliance, is because there are barely any truly skilled commanders left playing. There have always been freelancers like Spayed out there who just like causing havoc (Lammalord was a pretty famous one, as is Spayed), but the majority of the alliance bring down was done by multiple alliances, not a few "good" players squabbling amongst themselves.

You want to beat them? Start coordinating attacks with other alliances, team up with other alliances, turn the entire galaxy against them and have EVERYONE focus on attacking them. That's how every major power alliance has been brought to its knees. It worked on G-Unit, DDD, Aeternal Light, LOI, Nemesis Proclamation, The Elites, Spaceballs, league of extraordinary space commanders, Annihilation of Faith, Legion Of Immortals, Teufel Hunden, and others. Eventually people will tire of them controlling the top ten and step up and lash out, or someone on the team will get ambitious, feel they're the best player in the alliance, leave to make their own alliance, and dethrone them that way as well.

If you want to get anywhere in this game, start coordinating attacks with every alliance you can. 1-2 ships seems like nothing on an individual level. But do that for 20+ players, day after day, it starts to add up pretty quick.

Also, Spaceballs wasn't "unbeatable. They were d**n good, but they fell like every other major alliance. No one stays on top for long. Trust me, I know they weren't unbeatable, namely because G-unit was always at war with them, and we stole the top 10 from them once (and then had it stolen by TH later in that same round).

Feel free to PM me if you want to hear more about the old days, or how to take down giants like these. I can't promise the galaxy will work with you now though, it was a much more aggressive place back in the day, rather than the ghost town you see now.
5  General Talk / General Discussion / Re: Space Odyssey: Shattering Fates available for purchase on: February 01, 2010, 05:49:35 AM
No I don't think anyone involved with space pirates is named (well, maybe 1, Lammalord, can't remember if he was ever a part of you guys or not). and I never named space pirates themselves, sorry. The book was written over a huge span of time, involving only a few select alliances that were top of the game at the time, or that had someone I communicated with regularly. There just wasn't enough plot for me to add in more alliances. Sorry.

6  General Talk / General Discussion / Re: Space Odyssey: Shattering Fates available for purchase on: January 09, 2010, 11:38:12 AM
Ok, lots of crap happened, got in the way, but finally, SO: Shattering Fates is back up. New price is $9.99. first post in the thread has been updated to show proper price, and the link is still accurate, will take you right to the page where you can read the book's description and purchase.

So those of you who have been wanting to buy it, but didn't fr whatever reason now can.
7  General Talk / General Archive / Re: SO Classic on: December 21, 2009, 09:27:08 PM
honestly i think more interest is needed to make this happen

funny he made wars off 5 people wanting a "pvp" server.
8  General Talk / General Archive / Re: SO Classic on: November 22, 2009, 02:32:51 AM
Well, its 25-2...I think those are some very impressive numbers. Lets hope they're impressive enough that Emi acts on them. I mean, thats 92.6%, that's a high percent for any poll.
9  General Talk / General Archive / Re: SO Classic on: October 15, 2009, 04:14:41 PM
He won't remove Hacker's Project, seen the game, tried it, didn't like it, too complicated and too much things to do, but some scripts are similar to Space-O, but he gained over 50.000 players in that game within half a year or sumthing...

Its an ok game. And I'd prefer him not get rid of another game for this, if anything was to be gotten rid of, he could get rid of one of the SO servers.
10  General Talk / General Archive / Re: SO Classic on: October 15, 2009, 12:43:05 AM
thank you to whoever stickied this.

and some people may not want/like the idea of an SO Classic, we have to respect that opinion, even though the majority obviously agrees with the idea.
11  General Talk / General Archive / Re: SO Classic on: October 13, 2009, 09:50:17 AM
sure bring it back 13, but if u think you can over throw us on any server u got 2 be dreaming 13

I'm not looking for any "overthrowing" myself. Just a game that's back to the fun it use to be.
12  General Talk / General Archive / SO Classic on: October 12, 2009, 01:06:26 PM
Ok, I've suggested this to Emi multiple times and pretty much everyone I've talked to lately likes the idea, so I'm making an official poll for it. Let's show Emi just how many people want SO Classic. Details for those who don't know what i'm talking about are below.

SO Classic:

No galaxy or missions
No commander system
no donating for things, gold account donations only

It might sound horrible to new people, however back then, growing took a LOT longer, and the top 100 were so close in power in d-day the top 10 changes all the time. And there might not be a need for vacation mode really, as the rounds were slow enough that missing a few days didn't change anything. Back then, alliances working together was what made or broke someone's game, entire alliances would gang up on whoever the top alliance was to dethrone them. The game was much more fun and active back then than it is now.

So, cast your vote for if you want it or not, and feel free to discuss below.
13  General Talk / General Discussion / Re: List of vets I want to all play in one round - Spayed != Vet on: October 12, 2009, 12:58:22 PM
I've pointed him to threads with people who have supported SO Classic multiple times, and he always replies "after my next update i'll wokr on it." at one point i had nearly 100 players behind it, and he STILL didn't do anything, many people even said they'd donate money for him to make it. Idk why he won't. I'll make an official thread with a poll here in GD and we'll see if that works.
14  General Talk / General Discussion / Re: List of vets I want to all play in one round - Spayed != Vet on: October 02, 2009, 08:55:57 AM
2 i tremble in fear... I will probably have to ask permission to exist to the Mighty Ones.
That should sound something like: "O mighty ones, i will serve you, bow down, get my spine removed in order to be your worthless rug, and spare my puny ships from destruction." And their mightiness would grow in their souls and fill them...

Wake up, get some coffee, you are dreaming... laugh

If and when i return i will play to win... despite you, and despite whoever.

Well..errm..just relax joe. Its only a game  19

A game that is losing steam fast. I really think it's time SO Classic was introduced, if main and wars are anything to judge by, inactivity is now making the "low" ranks 120+, when last time i played, 4 rounds ago, it was still in the 500s. I fear for SO's future if things continue.
15  General Talk / General Discussion / Re: Bad Ships on: October 02, 2009, 08:53:23 AM
i use the bad ships... but only the really big ones after my line runs out.. other than that i dont know many people that use your ships.. ive did alot of attacking this round and not seen any yet

I knew that there had to be a reason that I liked you way, way, deep, deep, down inside of me   17

I think that feeling might just be indigestion.
