1  Space Odyssey Info Terminal / Add-on projects in progress / Re: The Command Project- Fleet Commanders on: May 22, 2015, 05:31:38 PM
i agree here this could be added so easy you have put
Future features received by gold accounts once they are added:
1 FREE fleet commander, once they are introduced

in the gold account upgrade section. so seems you have already have some of the code already done.
if you could give us your opinion emi we would love to see some added features that will bring the game upto date.

i know i keep referencing back to the post you stated you had a updated game engine with more features and could give spaceo a makeover. (post found here http://spaceoforum.etvirtualworlds.com/index.php/topic,10386.msg70884.html#msg70884 ) but this could all be implemented at the same time. i would be willing to donate towards the whole thing (just give us a target to make this happen). i believe this game needs a overhaul to bring in more players thus increasing the possibility's of more donations which end up with more money in your pocket. plus more players for us to play against.

stations can be much overpowered. if i use winnings i can get 4 stations on the second day of the round (which can produce an average of 180m per hour per station.(4x180x24=17.280b per day) due to the fact that reavers are no hassle if you know how to deal with them (even with a 5m cost ship i can wipe out revers) and to get a planet it takes longer. and not worth making until you reach high level gaia E.g level 10. before it makes it worthwhile. but by the time your able to get it to that stage. your ether high in power wich would make it useless. or someone maxes which in turn makes it useless again. which in turn was a waste of resources cp turns & creds on research. which makes them a useless part of the game that has no real need and may as well be removed.
in my eyes there are a few options that can be done to make them a viable option again

1. increase the payout & decrease the research + resources required to build them and add more features to them.

2. make them so they are required to reach max power. + option one.

3. make a rank & reward minigame system that is based around planet building/capturing that will make it fun & exciting.

There are many other ways to make them fun and viable. these are just a few i am not putting effort into this post until i see you doing updates & fixes to the game regularly again.

otherwise just remove them from the game all together.

To quote a previous message emi
Hey guys! Good to know we still have some dedicated players on Space Odyssey  1

Midnight, I've read all your messages and I usually reply, but reimbursing fleets is reserved only if due to a bug in the game. Now there haven't been bugs, but not many new updates either, I agree.

However, if there is still interest in the game I'm sure that updates will follow. I have an updated game engine now with a lot more features under the hood. I could probably give Space Odyssey a makeover and make it mobile friendly, plus some cool new features.

For the past year and a half, I've been working as a freelance software engineer in the financial district of Toronto on contracts so that I can support my family. While I would love to work on my passion witch is space exploration games, I have to prioritize a lot these days, so I can pay the expensive rent. But don't worry, I'm still working 16 hours a day, 50% for developing games and 50% for economic software. But of course I would love to do it 100% game developer  1

Anyway, I've received an interesting message from you guys and I've opened up a thread about it here:
http://spaceoforum.etvirtualworlds.com/index.php/topic,10396.0.html

Have fun and thanks for playing SO!

This seems like a good starting point. What sort of donation would you want to make this happen. As I believe this could bring back a few older vets back and also more appealing to new players.
I also think a more detailed beginner tutorial could go into a bit more detail on what directions they can take to progress faster into the game.
The ideas of other players could be inplemented at the same time like a mass upgrade. Im sure there are a few players who could help out to ease the load.

Thanks
Monkey

I agree. I see two choices. You become more active (e.g fixing bugs or adding updates.) Or seek help and make some moderators.
