well its not that bad, i didnt use planets at all and im doing good right now...beating a bunch of people that did abuse the update (but not very well) and not losing out by much to those that abused it effectively. all in all it was overdone, but not too bad

You know how when you open the items interface and look at pinpointer probes and they have a +1 bonus? This is a suggestion to add scan probes where either the bonus appears as +2 or +3 to give the commander the ability to use less probes and still get the aliens (but these are much rarer of course) and/or to create scanning booster items to give a +n% chance of discovery on the next scan, or the next however many scans each. These two would go well together because people would probably be more likely to use a booster item on a larger, rarer, (maybe less accurate?) scan probe than on a normal one. If anyone has amendments to this, feel free to suggest them.

Here's a program i coded where you input the different shield values in order strongest to weakest and you get about what the shield strength of the combo will be. working on one to give you the perfect combo, but that's a work in progress...
