If I remember correctly, adding more shields or computers gives a diminishing return. The first adds its entire value to the total bonus, and the rest add progressively smaller and smaller fractions of their values. Don't remember the particular fractions, though. The numbers should be lying around here, somewhere.

Alas, blakranger51 is harsh. Anyways, if you bring your guide to a more complete state, and probably pass it by a person or two for editing suggestions, I doubt there'd be much reason for it not to be stickied.
Granted that forum might need some things unstickied, as its first page is currently over half stickies.

116. Yes
81. Yeshir
78. Yeppidy
67. Double-yes
I'll give the askers a chance to say whether you guessed theirs correctly.
At this rate, I'll have to think up s'more qvestions!
(Edit:) It seems 116 was misfiled previously. Both correct guessers are credited.

Ya, for big enough ships, what weight you use is almost entirely non-consequential, as long as it's small.
Of course, you do have to pick a weight, so I just went with the mathematically optimal choice, because that's what OCD people do.

Oh, weight arguments... It all depends on what component he's using to get the HP. For Specials, assuming it hasn't changed in the last several years, the optimal weight is 6. Okay, here are my numbers for specials. Use 6 space for the specials, the rest should go to energy. The equations: The equation for HP on a special with 6 space is And the equation for defense is: Make sure to round up with HP and down with defense. Supplement defense with HP in order to get the cost below ten. The amount of HP you should add is the fractional part of the equation, multiplied by five hundred. Oh, and congratulation mikael roy on reviving this thread four months to the minute from its last post. That's some nice timing.
