Forum - Space Odyssey MMORPG - a massive free online space game

I've always been pondering what should be added in the blank area of the home screen (right in the middle for those who don't understand) and I got to thinking why not add another interactive type mission similar to alien spawns. This one wouldn't change your location in the galaxy and would spawn random miscellaneous "Space Pirate" type missions. which would give various amounts of market items instead of sellable and usable items. This would just be used as a method of bringing back market use to the game.

The reward can be modified. But I do like the idea of adding a use to the open space in the home screen.

also if anyone is good at making artwork. Knowing how emi works. If you're able to make the artwork for an update he would be more inclined to add it. So any artists out there. Make a space pirate ship and some pirate art if you would like to see this added. preferably in the artstyle that SpaceO already has.

Possible rewards to make it unique to missions/encounters/aliens already in place.

Galaxy Resources no in item form.
-would help people with making their first mine
-would also help people with mines in adding to their technology
-shouldn't be in item for so that it can give larger resource rewards early on and wouldn't give a ridiculous amount of credits through selling items.
-end game players still working on tech would still use/attack


Trade Goods
-nothing gives trade goods as a reward
-would promote market use like before encounters and galaxy
-untouched reward system
-would also promote using segments outside of planets again
-doubtful to pay well endgame

You could have a mission to complete a mission....

For example each day you have opportunity to get a new Galaxy mission which would be one of about 10 different possible options.

Some could be, kill 100 incursion aliens, kill 20 Super Nova encounters, Kill 5 alien commanders, gather 2000 gold resources etc

Completing one of these missions could get you a daily boost or reward.  A boost reward  could be ' The galactic bank has rewarded you with a  5% boost to your stash interest rate for 24 hours.'

Or,  'Your efforts have resulted in you obtaining technology that will increase your ships speed. Movement cost accross the galaxy will be reduced by 15% for 24 hours'

Having a pool of about 10 different missions, and about the same number of different rewards... all randomly given.

Saturn you genius!!! Also the market is still used by plenty of people if you know how to use it wisely. I know ways to get trillions of the market daily if you want to put in the time.(which you can easily do while playing or while waiting for turns.) and i have seen about 2 quad credits being made off of this in one round alone.

Emu I've never seen you finish a round with quads. Also the market is nowhere neat as needed anymore. Since planets were added there has been a better use for segments than warehouses.

Actually Borg.. Emy has maxed before!:o of course it's when none of us were around and Saturn & super were his only competition ;)

i also found a way to get unlimited turns at the end of a round that isn't hacking. and i faced hk as well :p

You act like hk is a challenge. He hasn't finished top 5 since I've been back.  A player on his second round did better than him and hk has been playing since before farts were invented.

yeah hk and Fury were in cohootz(is that spelled right? is it even a word?) the round i maxed so it was a little more difficult than just hk. I remember one time i stayed up for a 40 hour time period to try and get into an incursion that hk wasn't in and he was in every single one so it kinda shows me he wasnt playing alone.

erm.. No offense but that's kinda sad :sweat

I don't know who it's more sad for. HK playing 40 hours in a day on a game that needs maybe an hour a day or so. Or Emy waiting 40 hours (so in theory playing longer) just to get a single incursion.

I wasn't just staring at the screen for 40 hours :p just checking while doing other things.i had people txt me when an incursion started
