EDIT²: Minor script fixes to block symbols and only allow letters, numbers, spaces, _'s, and -'s.

Edit⁴: Made some small updates to the script. Some space saving changes, and now if you leave your ID as "00000"/"99999" or blank, and the ID box will not show at all. (That is only applicable to the sig bar, you can leave the ID blank for the full sig.)

Edit⁵: Moved site to another server. (It was transparent to all of you.) Updated the script to accept up to 7 numbers for the account number.

how about if i make you a backgroudn for the sig, and leave the room were you should put in the name of the player and also the ID and alliance empty so they can put it via your dinamic signature.

is it posible ? coz i like the coding , but i dont like the signs :-)

That would be fine Ricu, but I would still post the link here because the coding really is the hardest part. But the only downside is that there really isn't a way to make cool text effects. One other thing, dont forget to put "spaceo.net" somewhere in it to support the site.

how do i change the picture on the sig once one is made? i tried doing it again with a new picture, but the old picture picture stays.

Wierd, It should work if you put a different url in. Let me do some tsts real quick.

Good work on this, I believe it deserves to be stickied, therefore it shall.  Continue making cool stuff like this, it IS a great way to advertise the game.

I like it too, i just made one :) . But i suggest to others to use images with exacly defined dimentions, quality is way better (check my B16 in sig).
But there are no size specified. Big image is 81x81px, and small is 25x25px. Correct me if im wrong.
There could be also preview after generating signature, copy/paste is somewhat annoing. Adding "?something-random" to image url will prevent browser from caching while testing sig (ie. http://www.pwnedlist.com/ss/_11502_sig2.jpg?2352352fc9878a99e9).
There could be also some different filename, maybe only id. I cant use ☺ in sig :2:

Snipe, its only forum mod, and thats right under ur name so i wouldnt think it really matters :P but yeh this is a pretty cool thing occosin made... i made a sig but i like my own better lol....

Too bad i didn't know about this before i spent heck of long trying to figure out how to use photoshop to make my sig

man, snipe you need to chill on this being a moderator thing, dont need to go off and flant your powers around and such.. it tends to get people mad that you always seem to be trying to show off your mod power and such..

and ill have to call him lol, he almost never actally cheaks the fourm, he just stayed loged on for a real real long time so he could show off being first at something

UberPWNZ0R: It automaticly resizes the pictures, but yes, they are 81x81 and 25x25. Also, you can't put special symbols in the name because it messes with the webserver and crashes/confuses it, I never planned that anyone would use symbols in their name lol. I could add code that shows it to you, but you would still have to put the info back in, and whats up with the random ?242452345 after the picture... that doesnt do anything, it is just a regular picture...

SnipeDragon: I don't think its nessicary to make a mod-only version, the only people that would care are people on this forum, and the people on this forum can read it under your name.

ya snipe, its more for other fourms and such, so you can show off that you play the game, and well help emi advertize the game..

Lammalord, #1, Dont tell me how to do my job, Ive been moderating/administrating games, and forums for over 7 years now.  #2, dont double post, I know its meant for advertising, im perfectly capable of reading, #3, A moderator background is all I asked for, and as I am a Moderator, so are you, I would rather advertise the fact that Im a moderator, than a player (so if someone joins, they dont have to search for a moderator, they know they can go to me for help).

Snipe i think what lamma means is that you ARENT a moderator, your a forum moderator... huge difference there... you have no more power in the actual game then me, or just about ny1 beside emi lol... so if people needed help theyd go ot emi, or an experienced player in game, and if they needed help on the forums, you got that oyur a moderator in quite a few places, so shouldnt be too hard to find lol...

not like theres much to do as a moderatior, all i get is the occiasinal misplacement of a topic, or spam... and well sometimes people that ask me to lock a topic, other than that it isnt that hard to be a moderator, so really what was that 7 years good for? i mean just about anyone who is active on the fourm can know whats spam and whats in the wrong spot...

but emi has suggested mabey some chat moderators for the spaceo chat, now that can have a different picture, or well mabey something fancy in the chat box if it ever happens...

i'm no moderator, but when did a discussion on dynamic signatures and how to make them turn to a conversation about moderator powers and abusing them and everything that is in the last few posts?  Back to the topic of dynamic signatures...

I just use fireworks (i have a mac) its a pretty good program but it is really limited...i'm saving for a del laptop though, or a desktop, thoes work better since they're cheaper (weird right?)

For now fireworks suits me fine...but i can never tell what is a good size for forum signature pictures...i just use a size that looks like a picture from a previous post

yeah i have fireworks also, (well  idon own it but have access to it if i need it) and it works ok, ive done a few things in it. standard signature size is 400x100 thoguh i believe, or something near that size

Mines a little big but i'm too lazy to go on the photoshop enabled comp and transfer it to this one

well i would say that standerd avitar sizes are 100x100 and signature is 200x400. thay are the main sizes on most sites i go to  i would have of sugested yousing gimp 2.2  it has a esyer to lern interfase and sistem .

Its cool that gimp is free, but... I cant use it :P Photoshop has far better interface, and layer options. Or maybe gimp has too, but i dont know where :) I didnt read any book about either editor, but i can use photoshop and cant gimp.
Startup time. Jeeez, whats up with fonts in gimp? It starts in 1 minute, mainly because of fonts. Photoshop starts in 11 seconds, and after it was loaded once, 4 seconds.

0cossin77, my sugestion with that random numbers was to add preview. Random string will prevent caching for preview. User could test different sigs without need to manually refresh page in other window/tab.
You could also use imagecopyresampled (http://php.net/manual/en/function.imagecopyresampled.php) instead imagecopyresized (http://php.net/manual/en/function.imagecopyresized.php) for better quality. Or maybe also crop to square and than resize.

i have photo shop my self but do not now how to youse it as well as gimp and since i make most of my stuf with gimp i find it the esyer program. it was the first one i had and i beleve the best for most things. but photoshop has its distorts and uther efects to its advantage . althow thair is a way to get the photoshop things in gimp. i still prefer to youse gimp .

and befor you be wundering i got photoshop from a frend so it did not cost me a thing.

I own you all, I make everything in paint now. Anyone can make cool pictures in photoshop or gimp, but to do it in paint, that takes skill. my sig is made in paint, my avatar, also paint.

True luffy you do pwn us all with the paint skills .And would extremy pwn us if you got gimp or photshop, I meen if you can do that in paint then dam!  you will be very good in gimp and a bit more in photoshop.


But one question is it just normal microsoft paint . Or paint shop pro you are yousing?

Well, I took some time to update the scripts so for you ding-dongs who didn't read not to put in symbols (no offence to anyone that did it =P), it doesn't let you anymore. Also I fixed the scripting errors that were a result of any spaces in the username. So now the script should run smoother. And if you haven't made one yet, you should, its a great way to support SO, and look cool. =)

Ya, I just cleaning out my site when I found some sig files that had symbols in them... despite the fact that it said in big, bold letters "DONT USE SYMBOLS"... So i figured I might aswell give the script a tune-up.

Fixed. It now accepts up to 7 numbers for the account number. Thanks for bringing it up, I'm kind of surprised no one said anything sooner. (Obviously I still watch the thread and try to keep things up to date.)

Ah, no. I haven't looked for a solution in quite a long time. I could mess with it a bit this week if you need it. I'm pretty sure that I know a solution for it now that I am a better programmer. It''ll just take me longer because I'm playing Deus Ex.
