Forum - Space Odyssey MMORPG - a massive free online space game

Ok, I've suggested this to Emi multiple times and pretty much everyone I've talked to lately likes the idea, so I'm making an official poll for it. Let's show Emi just how many people want SO Classic. Details for those who don't know what i'm talking about are below.

SO Classic:

No galaxy or missions
No commander system
no donating for things, gold account donations only

It might sound horrible to new people, however back then, growing took a LOT longer, and the top 100 were so close in power in d-day the top 10 changes all the time. And there might not be a need for vacation mode really, as the rounds were slow enough that missing a few days didn't change anything. Back then, alliances working together was what made or broke someone's game, entire alliances would gang up on whoever the top alliance was to dethrone them. The game was much more fun and active back then than it is now.

So, cast your vote for if you want it or not, and feel free to discuss below.

I'm not looking for any "overthrowing" myself. Just a game that's back to the fun it use to be.

Yes I agree...but who thinks he should ditch one of the servers and/or games (Hack Project I'm looking at you)

meh we cant ask him to ditch another game... idk never been on hacker project.. maybe he has alot of people that play over there.. but maybe the test server or wars server since its done

and some people may not want/like the idea of an SO Classic, we have to respect that opinion, even though the majority obviously agrees with the idea.

He won't remove Hacker's Project, seen the game, tried it, didn't like it, too complicated and too much things to do, but some scripts are similar to Space-O, but he gained over 50.000 players in that game within half a year or sumthing...

Its an ok game. And I'd prefer him not get rid of another game for this, if anything was to be gotten rid of, he could get rid of one of the SO servers.

I approve of this topic.  It has the backing and support of the Head Moderator (does that amount to anything?  0o).

Anyways.. listen to your players please Emi, a server like this can't hurt anything.

Just lower the rewards Emi :) so ppl won't grow that fast as back in the old days, and you will acturly have DDay's without maxed players :)
Or set the max (ship power) to a lower level so you have to have like several thousands to max :P (just blabbeling some stuff / idears on here)

They can vote whatever they like, I can understand why ppl would prefer this current server, with the planet etc. more and steady income (planet), which you don't have there, and there are of course always the more-new-players who don't wanna know the old ways but just like it the way it is..

But I think Emi knows for himself that 2 votes doesn't matter and that it would get alot of players back (hopefully, I know at least some will :D)

EDIT:

Maybe re-open the test server to test SO-Classic for 1 month, in which time we can ask old players to come back and then when it re-opens we have quite a number of 'old' players :) ?

If you ask me that was because there were several big and strong and famous alliance, and always ppl talking on chat and big fights over rankings etc. etc. These days it's just: shut up! no you shut up! you cheat! no you cheat! and sum1 gets zeroed and quits the game.. I think that sums about everything up :P

Actually back then everyone was at war and the main income came from pvp, kill or be killed except for Gunfighter Frank's group theirs was ship designs but anymore there are too many good designs to really make money that way.

You forget about the fact that there are design-programs... :4: which is just plain ol' rediculous.. I know I was gaining shitloads of royalties from my powership design back then... from my tyesta.. Untill Emi made the update that you could install 1 weapon about 250 times... my tyesta had 2001 weapons on it, which I installed 1 by 1 on the d**n ship... took me about 2 hours to do so.. then I was creating her bigger sister, and Emi announced he was gonna create that update I was glad I never finished the ship or I would have been pissed as hell as it had 3500 weapons I believe :P

But anyways.. anyone seen Emi? I got a mail from him 4 days ago, sent him another one, not got anything back yet :/

Ppl currently can't PvP with you guys as it'll be like 8 v 1.. and yu're wayyy too high for everyone :P

Well, its 25-2...I think those are some very impressive numbers. Lets hope they're impressive enough that Emi acts on them. I mean, thats 92.6%, that's a high percent for any poll.

Well if it means something, he is in fact active in SO-Main :)

they are alot shorter than they used to be and u know it and there was alot more fighting in classic hi

the reason there is no fighting now is because everybody hides in nebs and dont take there ships out unless they are in a neb...

well duh that is the point they take their ships out to do the galaxy they would not do that with no galaxy  :please: :rifle: lets fight in classic
