WAAAAY back I was pretty good, back before galaxy and all, lol. Never took top ten, but I usually placed top 20-30 until I quit playing regularly. Anyways, War_Knight should definitely be there, as should Wizard_of_War, they were both insanely skilled commanders, especially WoW.

and definitely Smee, hell that guy could cause all kinds of trouble.

WoW did regularly, and i wasn't saying add me spayed, i was only ever a decent commander, not amazing. Smee was very good, he just liked to go crazy and cause a lot of wars.

The only others i know who have gone toe to toe with light have been Lammalord, and CRX, and both got their butts handed to them. only WoW was ever on a level equal to Lightseekers, albeit a less peaceful level.

ahh he was a good player.. i wouldnt say awsome pvp skills.. he used his counters well though

Lightseeker was a simmer, and that was all he was good at.  during my fights with light I was able to take ships and never did lose a ship on an attack from him (never let him hit my missions)  he was good at keeping money, not fighting.  Oh and his supers were not the best, alot of players had better built ships than him.

But his "keeping money" skill still always landed him on top.  and he spammed powerships whenever he felt threatened.

A perfectly valid tactic, although uninteresting compared to others.

i was bored since i am now unemployed, ahah anways if i was good at anything i was a good leader with even better commanders at my side, my commanders are what made me a good player end of story. also my name should be up there ahaha because I Smee have spoken. but honestly i wouldnt even understand how to play SO anymore im sure there has been a ton of changes. ill vouche for lamma although i dont care for the guy he took my alliance on headstrong and for that my hats off to you and i salute you with respect. gunfighter was and is the best designer period, argus was brutal and the 2 people i would vouche for from my alliance are silver and soppe. as for war_knight i never saw talent but he understand the basics of the game although a vet yes but umm ill say no lol.

I would like to see Karimun, he entered top 10 without a gold account when everyone else had one.  At that time i had 900 encrypt lvl and he was waaay above me :)). I miss Baltic and our talks about the Finnish wars. Heard about a player called Ricu, he was in the top when i joined.

Not sure how good he was in the end, but i cannot forget my first alliance leader, in J-Enterprises, a guy named Finwe Mithrandir or something like that. Lost all contacts of my first period here when i erased my first account called The-Joe.

I love the throwback to my old name that i changed to, and then changed back from, lol. and yes its spelled correctly. also, ahaha, I remember Eberon, wars with him were so fun, pure 100% fleet smackdown fests. No one walked away from those with all their ships, and yet they never accomplished anything on either end.

I added jeff to the list, 'cus the question was: Make a list of the players you would wanna play a round with, I would love to see those guys all together in a round 'cus they all weren't afraid to go into battle, (no offence to him) but Lightseeker on the other hand (who was a great player), rather avoided fights, I have never seen him in a war acturly, I've only seen 2 people ever that took him out..
Although I would love to play with Light also of course ^,^

Light was very anti-war, but he'd smack your poop around if you made him. I remember WoW vs Light, THOSE were some wars, they'd go at it for hours straight sometimes, the logs were insane.

yeah there was better wars back then you know why? because only ranking attacks... that caused very little buddy or alt nebbing and more pvp.. was much better then

Last time I spoke to Light a few months back, he had a busy RL, so guessing that's still the same. You never know what the future holds, he may come back.

Unlikely... but still possible. I am speaking with him often on YM. If he comes back, i may come back also. However this will happen after some major updates on the game involving the reduction of the time required to play.

A game that is losing steam fast. I really think it's time SO Classic was introduced, if main and wars are anything to judge by, inactivity is now making the "low" ranks 120+, when last time i played, 4 rounds ago, it was still in the 500s. I fear for SO's future if things continue.

Well I agree with that Seither. Changes should definitely be made to increase players. However, in regard to certain players...they should relax a bit and not take attacks personally.

I'd totaly join tclassic. All this galaxy building just fux things up. Yesterday i was attacked by some dude whos now in top 10 with over 2 bill galaxy worth all of a sudden. I feel so... old 8)

I am relaxed. And really glad to see old faces reappear around.

PS... SO classic sounds good to me. No more planets and space stations...

Well, personally speaking, I would love for emi to scrap Sea-O and make SO Classic.

What I don't understand is why he created Sea-O ?

Besides the fact that according to him sea-games were more popular than space-games, he doesn't do jack sji... about it..

I have already found 4 different bugs in sea-o which were immediatelly fixed in this game.. (no I'm not telling anyone what it is, NO not even in PM's). After the last DDay there, they say next round started and ended after 10 minutes, and created a new hall of fame..
When I logged in, only 1 other person was online, and I voted and I gained per vote 50 million credits.. and gained rank 1 for 2 days I believe :P
He didn't even reset the votes, I remember when he did that in Space-O; immediate reset..
Don't think he gives much about it, besides the fact that a few ppl in it donate I guess..

But anyways, maybe someone should suggest it to Sir Emi, and point him to this topic, and that ALOT of old players would love to see the old version of Space-O being re-instated :) Or at least tried on a new server or sumthing.. I bet he'll get way more players (/donators for turns) :P

I've pointed him to threads with people who have supported SO Classic multiple times, and he always replies "after my next update i'll wokr on it." at one point i had nearly 100 players behind it, and he STILL didn't do anything, many people even said they'd donate money for him to make it. Idk why he won't. I'll make an official thread with a poll here in GD and we'll see if that works.

put the borg on there...he never placed well but he would show up every other round and cause some havoc. He would at least make the first two weeks a very very interesting two weeks.

I might play a spaceo classic.

my requirements:

1 the galaxy - this was one update that was good...  though maybe we can add in a low-maintenance sever that was like spaceo before even that - one were all you need is a few minutes and the mission contracts that give profit based on power.

2.  no power cap.. and to make sure the round move slowly.  example of doing this would be increased amounts of encounters, faster spawn times, but at the same time less reward on them..  so saw black holes cap at only 100 turns per - but there are 4.5x as many of them. or golds give 1/5th what they do now but there are 5x as many of them.. and make encounters spawn on a 2 hour or 3 hour cycle instead of the current 8 hour one.

3.  make black holes more rare.. I know we all love them but more black holes simply means guy with most time on his hands wins - less black holes means that 2-3 hours every few days is all you need - so its more fair the guy who has full time student and a part time job!

And what about the hidden encounters, there are over 7 of them AT LEAST that give turns as reward...
And of course the 2.500 turns reward for voting... rediculous... remove, or lower to max. 500 -,-' 2500 is just too much :P

firstly i saw less the 5 black holes in total last round. the hidden encounters that give turns are rare and most of them dont give good amounts of turns. the voting thing is so rare... that it really dont matter what its set at.

as far as black holes i see maybe 3 a day with 50 turns each thats nothing you might be able to do one more quad but thats it :21:

yea i dont really do encounters at 15 mill power. prob why i never see any black holes

Nah definately not! Can't call someone a vet for just appearing in top 10, I've done that a few times and I wouldn't class myself as one!
Think a top 3 more than once or winning a round would be the normal reason to be considered a vet, maybe some of the ship designers whose ships are still used and are considered the best or original.
  I could see other reasons for being considered depending apon a collective view of other experienced players, maybe just years of active playing and contributing to the enjoyment/terror of others!!

i'm not even on there. some wolfy58 is but no wolfy28 :(. lightseeker wasn't a good pvp like people say. i beat him 2 rounds in pvp then farmed a truce,cuz he always got me friends to talk me out of wars with him. why he's always on top is cuz he hated pvp. while the rest of the vets would gladly give any amount of our power for a good war. we never shot for the top 10. we just happen to get in the top 10 anyways.

Lightseeker was non agressive but that didn't mean he wouldn't look at returning fire if was pushed to. To say that someone cheats just because they dont PVP is a bit much. Play style is a choice, both have their advantages and dissadvatages. A total pacifist may get hit more because the attacker doesn't fear any counter!
A vet is someone who knows how to play either style and achieve end of round results time after time.

Dunno would have to see if I got my chatlogs from back then, should have them on my old pc..... lost the back ups through a crash of my external HDD but should have them saved somewere.

Emi even copied me some logs to show me lol.... ironic thing was that lammalord got punished while light abused it way more.

I will not contineau a talk about this in public... for obvious reasons I can however see if I can find my chatlogs to back up my claims.

Fair enough that you don't want to talk about in public but one would suggest that you don't make a claim like that if you do not wish to discuss it further ... and especially if you don't have any proof or in this case your proof has mysteriously "disappeared".

I guess this is the first time that I have heard anyone suggesting that he cheated. I have only heard good things about him and am just surprised about this new "revelation"

i'll nominate chicpea, but certainly not darkness. I don't believe darkness was good enough; if not for his wife, I do not believe he would ever have been worthy competition.

I said I would get my old pc and connect it when I had time to look for my chatlogs. You can ask lammalord as well, sure he must remember getting reset for something both he and light were doing.

Light's been accused of cheating many times, but Emi cleared him of all charges.  And Light offered for Emi to reset him when he and lamma abused that glitch, however, for whatever reason, it seems Emi didn't. Maybe he felt it wouldn't have affected the game any, since Light rarely attacked first. Or maybe he did and Light just had too much power, idk.

In the end, Light only ever "cheated" once, the glitch that was also heavily abused by Lamma, and many others also abused it, just not the the extent they were rumored to have done so. For whatever reason, Light was seemingly unaffected by Emi's punishment, while Lamma lost a lot from it, others losing a bit. That's that. It doesn't diminish Light's achievements any.

Seither you have no cleu what happened.... and honestly.... I fear I only know a tiny part and have some feeling the extend in which the cheating went.

Actually lammalord found out about the bug later than lightseeker, got less profit from it.... and got reset several days as punishment. And light did not report the bug I did.

oh god, none of these ring a bell, i know there was one of them, I think i was playing with wolfy, lost a lot of ships (my entire fleet) used a bug to grow quickly, what was it again???  what was it mmmmm  got reset like a week, lost 90% of my power (in fact think i got reset like 4 or 5 days for a but i used for like 12 hours...) no, can't remember at all what THAT one was... or the rest i got in trouble for, I'm sure if i checked all my msgs between me and emi I'd find out...

There is no cheating allowed in Space Odyssey.

If you find any bugs and exploits, you should immediately report it to e(#1) in game. Exploiting a bug is against our TOS and can get you fined or even banned. Coming forward with details on how to fix it may help you, but not if you abuse it.

There are no major bugs at this time so I do not see any point to this discussion. A moderator should delete all posts and accusations to game admon and bug related content. It is not allowed to post bug details and how to exploit bugs in the forum.

lol emi, I did report them all and you fixed them all too.  most times I'd see a problem tell you, you'd say its no big deal, I'd do it a few times, you'd realize its a bit deal, fix and reset me.  mostly do it to prove a point.  the only one i didn't tell you about was I think that one with the bounty...  but i only did it like once or twice - there were tons of people who abused it way more and got what - there workers reset?

the on ken removed was one that would NEVER work again lol... that 3 second rule stopped it...
