Title: New Players......How to use the Free Gold Account trial Post by: Saturn 7 on February 19, 2009, 08:57:41 AM Noticed that quite a few new players start the game and don't utilise the free gold account trial.
This trial will allow you to clone up to 5 ships, designed by other players who have made these available for others to copy and use. When buying your first ship use this option to get yourself started. Click on manage Gold account. In this window you will see options for entering ship price ranged or names. I'd suggest asking within the in-game chat for some good starter designs, this will make your search easier. Once you have obtained a ship name, enter this and hit search. You should then see the ship listed below. Select the tick box by that ship and select clone, this will make that ship available for you to purchase. If you havent a ship name then use the min and max price options, this will bring up several pages of ship designs for you to browse through. Only clone 1 ship, your limit is 5 unless you decide to pay the $20 annual subscription, you will need the other 4 to upgrade later. You will also receive a 20% ship resupply discount, so consider this when looking for a ship to buy. Now you have your first ship in which to buy and use.... make sure you leave yourself enough credits to buy marines... without them you are in extreme danger of losing your ships to other players ( main and wars servers) I'd also suggest looking up what powerships are in this forum and look to buy a design using 1 of your 4 remaining clones.
