Greetings Everyone. Sir Emilian has granted me moderator status in this section of the forums. I intend to clean this section up and give it more purpose so that it prospers more. There aren't many posts here however, there is a massive amount of replies which shows the potential of this section of the guide. This posts for anyone under 7500 who has hung around the game for a while. Sadly, newer players wouldnt know about the old game I used to play =-P

Reason for this post, is to discuss exactly things that went on in the past, and I am going to devise a new ranking system for commanders, ships, battles, wars and the sort.

but u said also discuss the present, and no one knows the present better than last round new gamers right?

Ok, well if you feel you have somoething important to add to this conversation, you can contact me at x32max@hotmail.com. I will be discussing the past and how the present is much different, etc. Right now it's an unplanned Idea but we can do somethin with it.

It'll help new players see how different SO is now, and maybe, convince them to ask
emi for a old version to play, like a tournament mode for the top 50 or100 players after D-Day.

I suggested it a while back (called retro suggestion) and Emi said he liked the idea of an older tournament SO for those who place in the top 100 or 200, but that was the last I heard about it.

Ok, now that we have the attention of a few commanders, let's start discussing the past.

1) What is your most memorable moment?
       My most memorable moment was when I invented the Tiny Man fleet. It caused buttloads of chaos. So much chaos that people continuously donated to attack me, as well as a few alliances paid Eberon to continuously attack me. Man, i complained like crazy about that.

2) What is your worst moment in SO?
       My worst moment was when WoW stabbed me in the back and attacked me when I was ranked #4. We had a truce and he broke the truce to attack me.

3) Who do you feel is the top 5 commanders?
      Well, I am a narcisist, however I will not include myself. The top 5 on my list are Lightseeker, Gunfighter_Frank, Wizard_Of_War, Argus, and mannaman. I will explain the reasons at a later date

       My most memorable moment was when G-unit took on the whole galaxy. That was so insanely fun.

2) What is your worst moment in SO?
       My worst moment was when a reset caused all my credits to return to my secret base, so I ended up being unable to finish d-day and make the top ten.

3) Who do you feel is the top 5 commanders?
      Lightseeker easily is one, Daveyboy, Argus, Chicpea, and kryologic.

1) What is your most memorable moment?
       Actually being allowed into the DDD when it was at its strongest, even though I seemed new.
(zephyrblade is NOT my first account, My first account was something like #1008).
Then, leaving the DDD to join FA where I felt like I fit in.

2) What is your worst moment in SO?
The temporary collapse of the DDD.

     
3) Who do you feel is the top 5 commanders?
Nicholas D. Wolfwood, Wizard_Of_War, Mrtimbr, Gunfighter_Frank and Smee are all tossing between my number #1 spot. Chuck any friendly commander in the list too. xD Lawlz, jk.

Shouldnt you give a very good reason for why people are on your top 5 list, as reading who has been choosen I can see some commander that are indeed the top, but for some I cannot imagen why they are choosen.

Lightseeker_Eu ~~~ Finished #1 at least 4 times so far, his alliance has never been below #3 at the end of the round.

Wizard_of_War ~~~ Rises incredibly fast, had great war tactics. Always was fun to play with.

Nicholas D. Wolfwood ~~~ Extremely aggressive yet always manages to come out pretty far up. Tiny man anyone?

Argus ~~~ A great player, if he would stick with it. Rises fast, has some great designs. Also is a royal pain to fight against.

Midnight44 ~~~ Another great player, has some of the best designs in the game, rises fast and strong, took #1 last round with a strong alliance of top players. Also wrote a great guide which helped me figure out how to play again once I returned from going AWOL.


Edit: Davey's just sore about being beaten by middy, then having mid cut and run so that davey can't get his revenge  :D

No, davey boy and wolfy should not be in my top five. wolfy and db never got a #1 finish. I don't know of any unique and incredible designs they've made. Also, I never was impressed with serenity, as it's easy to do well if you never fight anyone (therefore, no losses)

I've never seen Argus or Nicholas ending #1 ... so why you putting them in if getting #1 is so important? 0o :confused:

Yeah, but did db, wolfy, chic, or darkness invent the tiny man design? And Argus would have a top spot if he would keep playing. And I never stated the #1 spot was the only deciding factor, but come on, just try to argue that Lightseeker isn't in the top 5, he's like the lance armstrong of spaceo.

  when i joined the great war. g_unit_x lol, anyone remember war_knight? how about lunarnova? all the rest of them? it was awesome and really taught me about teamwork.

2) What is your worst moment in SO?
when i got to ranking of 11 and did not have the time to stay on to make top 10. that really pissed me off.
