I made a good reply to this then you moved the topic and I can't remember what I put. :( aaanyway.. To my knowledge, it's fine to gather the intel via surface probing a planet on more than one account as long as you do not make an attack with another account within 24 hours. There are only a handful of people who want your planet dead Borg :P and from what I've heard none of them have made an attack on your planet. The synopsis was basically that as long as the same IP does not use multiple logins to make multiple hits within a 24 hour period, than you're not breaking any rules. If I had clicked attack to gather intel then that would have been making hits but since a surface probe is that, a probe(not a hit :P), then no rules were broken. Correct?

Basically, the whole point is that you cannot use one account to benefit another. By probing with one, you are saving a lot of turns on your main - thus giving your main account an advantage.
