Title: 2 suggestions SO Main (Planets)
Post by: Ultra Elite on October 17, 2010, 08:55:49 PM
Just my thoughts:

Add Power that comes from a planet (the galaxy power) to your main power, when you want to attack by remote assault. To keep the game more fair. Back in the old days you had to buy tiny men, these days you can also just attack with mains, as you don't get power from segments or workers as they are all in the planet, and you can just put your credits in reserve ships.

2nd suggestion:
Make it so that planets are not conquerable ? (I'm not really 100% sure about this one myself)
That you can destroy a planet okay, and then you have to invest at least 50.000 segments and 10.000.000.000 credits in the planet to recreate it again. (just a suggestion)
Or that you can get a planet cloack or something.

The 2nd I don't really mind that much, but the first is a must, as the game gets really unbalanced right now.

Just my thoughts, Grtz, U.E.

Gimme your thoughts on this plz.

reserve ships show up as power. as does marines as does galaxy fleets....

and by the time people get a planet the segs and worker power dont really matter.

Reserve ships, do not show up as power. Only the marines power shows up. I have not tested it since a round or two after the update was added so I could be wrong.

So, you're telling me, that Kyle here has ships and is at 150.000.000 power, only with his few segments + credits + ships he has, and his marines in reserve? Whilst he has several Quad ships in reserve, I don't think so.

Another thought I've been having is some method of increasing co-operative action.  To try too increase alliance strategy more, how about a planetary bombardment option, where several players can join in a linked planetary assault. This would require a minimum of 2 players attacking at the same time but having the effect of weakening the planets defences if sucessfull. Only planetary sructures like military bases, shields and banks can be targeted.
The more players that join, the bigger the attack bonus. This will allow an amarda of lower ranked players to attempt to limit the power of planets, obviously too low will have no effect.
I'm just trying to add a new dynamic into the gameplay, not because of any one player being too strong ( chances are he will still be as strong, but will have more of a challenge)

I like the idear, only 1 problem.
Alts.. I know some players in the game have over 60 alts, would be easy to do much damage then.
As votes currently give 250 mill credits, immagen, 60 x 250 = 15 Bill credits, you can do quite some damage with that if you can get 60 bonusses.

Maybe if you are at 5% or more of the person that you wish to attack,
Or only people from the same alliance, already limits it to 20 people. :)

Then the system is bugged or changed. I recall some issue with the reserve ships not giving proper power then reserved. The system should be working properly if you think it is bugged please PM Sir Emi on main.

Edit: Here is how the reserve system is supposed to work.

Marine power from ships is always present whether or not they are reserved. When a ship is reserved its cost(not sure if this accounts for discount)/1000 is the amount of power it gives you.

For example: You have a 1 quad ship, with 2 quad marines. You have no credits or anything else that would give you power and put the ship in to reserve. You should have 3 trillion power now. 1 Trill from the ship being in reserve and 2 trill from the marines.

Unless Kyle is selling each of his ships for a significant loss. Something is going wonky if he is that low in power.

lol...
1. ANYONE can get to ANY power using tinies.
2. One can sell off their entire net worth and dump it into planet if done right.
3. Alliance bonuses in ANY way would be a GREAT edition to the game.
4. It is common knowledge that Emi rarely does anything on this server anymore... So unless there is a collective assault on Emi from the top 20 players via PM, good luck getting anything done.

My suggestion:
Figure out the best way to make alliances more useful; I have a good suggestion somewhere in these forums for alliance bonuses; get all ACTIVE (this means you have no input truth of mind, and Kenquinn) players to AGREE to implementing the idea; then, and only then, have EVERYONE message Emi with the link to the FINAL implementation idea, asking for him to code, and input it.

@#2: I thought that was closed with the rebalanced on how much you can get from selling your ships.

ken i tested it two days ago. reserved ships give power. the power the give is in relation to how much they cost and it does not take into account your line assembly discount.

we have been asking for something along the lines of alliance bonus for years and never has anything been done.

The biggest problem to make sure it won't be abused is to make sure it is not possible to use it with alts, so maybe make use of Command Points, or that everyone has to have a certain Commander Level or something like that (Like joining DDay armada).

Thank you for testing it. I recalled having some issues with it back then, but it seems I was wrong.
