Title: Covert ops attack Post by: SirEmi on January 20, 2010, 04:10:20 PM This attack only works if you have a remote counter attack on someone.
- new attack type. Covert ops attack -> If you have a counter on someone, you can use the covert ops attack and destroy reserve fleets - does more damage the more ships in the fleet (1%-5%) of a random fleet, if fleet numbers > 100 -> or destroy credits in mothership (random from 1%-5%) -> you get salvage items (20% of destroyed fleets / credits) Cost: 50 turns, 20 CP to hire the saboteurs Please comment :) Title: Re: Covert ops attack Post by: Nephadral on January 20, 2010, 04:37:30 PM I would love to use that right now!
Title: Re: Covert ops attack Post by: Qualopec on January 20, 2010, 05:15:06 PM That would be very cool would need some version of it for wars though
Title: Re: Covert ops attack Post by: TNTTony on January 20, 2010, 07:47:02 PM yes I agree it is a good idea but can we please try it out first on the test server. In this way we can make sure that it is balanced and fair for players of all power.
Title: Re: Covert ops attack Post by: Grondavor on January 20, 2010, 07:53:04 PM this souns like a fun idea, but might be alittle costly with CP, and that actually will make it impossible for lower power players
Title: Re: Covert ops attack Post by: Pirate55 on January 20, 2010, 07:55:27 PM so then... this option is only available if you are countering someone?
Title: Re: Covert ops attack Post by: Jan`go Vhett on January 20, 2010, 08:14:30 PM Definitely need something similar for Wars.
Title: Re: Covert ops attack Post by: Spayed on January 20, 2010, 08:16:03 PM i like it, but i agree with tony that it needs to be tested first
Title: Re: Covert ops attack Post by: Grondavor on January 20, 2010, 08:46:19 PM also you would never know whether somebody actually has ships in reserve.. you could just be wasting 20 cp on the attack to find out they havent reserved anything, that would need to be fixed somehow
Title: Re: Covert ops attack Post by: SirEmi on January 20, 2010, 09:28:38 PM also you would never know whether somebody actually has ships in reserve.. you could just be wasting 20 cp on the attack to find out they havent reserved anything, that would need to be fixed somehow Actually, the saboteurs will target what you specify (reserves or mothership credits). So, if they don't find the specified target, they go for something else, e.g. sabotage reserves, not found, goes for credits. Title: Re: Covert ops attack Post by: Grondavor on January 20, 2010, 09:30:50 PM what if the player has no reserved ships, and has all credits in base?
Title: Re: Covert ops attack Post by: Spayed on January 20, 2010, 09:41:14 PM then u should raid them..
Title: Re: Covert ops attack Post by: Grondavor on January 20, 2010, 10:11:01 PM but my point is that you cant tell either of these things by looking at rankings or anything. unless we add something to the remote assault screen that shows if they have ships reserved, it wouldnt work very well
Title: Re: Covert ops attack Post by: TNTTony on January 20, 2010, 10:13:35 PM That is true, BUT this game is also about risk. There should always be an element of surprise.
Title: Re: Covert ops attack Post by: SirEmi on January 20, 2010, 10:15:57 PM Well, if the saboteurs don't find reserves / credits, then there's nothing to worry about is it? :))
Title: Re: Covert ops attack Post by: Grondavor on January 20, 2010, 10:16:58 PM well you would have lost 50 turns and 20 cp, which for some people is a pretty bif loss, especially the turns
Title: Re: Covert ops attack Post by: Spayed on January 20, 2010, 10:25:40 PM then dont take the risk..
Title: Re: Covert ops attack Post by: Grondavor on January 20, 2010, 10:26:43 PM in that case most players probably wont, at least at lower power
Title: Re: Covert ops attack Post by: Spayed on January 20, 2010, 10:30:13 PM which is good. its supposed 2 be a risk. u dont win by not taking risks...
Title: Re: Covert ops attack Post by: Grondavor on January 20, 2010, 10:31:04 PM true true. well then sounds like a good idea to me
Title: Re: Covert ops attack Post by: Spayed on January 20, 2010, 10:32:58 PM yay finally we agree on something
Title: Re: Covert ops attack Post by: Grondavor on January 20, 2010, 10:35:11 PM haha i know...
Title: Re: Covert ops attack Post by: Fester on January 21, 2010, 06:49:17 AM Nice idea, I'm sure I mentioned covert missions on planetary attacks also so can this attack type be used on planets to destroy infrastructure like mil bases, banks or shields please?
Title: Re: Covert ops attack Post by: Spayed on January 21, 2010, 08:55:42 AM i dont like the idea of that... i have 136 bases on my gaia and only 10% combat bonus... destroying the bases would make it way to easy to take planets..
Title: Re: Covert ops attack Post by: SirEmi on January 21, 2010, 12:26:52 PM Nice idea, I'm sure I mentioned covert missions on planetary attacks also so can this attack type be used on planets to destroy infrastructure like mil bases, banks or shields please? It's not for planetary battles, the planet combat is ok for the moment. Title: Re: Covert ops attack Post by: Spayed on January 21, 2010, 10:03:22 PM cept for the million turns it takes
Title: Re: Covert ops attack Post by: Fester on January 31, 2010, 09:07:03 AM OK so when are we likely to see this implemented?
Title: Re: Covert ops attack Post by: SirEmi on February 01, 2010, 02:09:36 PM OK so when are we likely to see this implemented? This gets implemented after the PvP both ways salvage. Shouldn't be too long now. Title: Re: Covert ops attack Post by: Spayed on February 02, 2010, 07:31:34 AM has the not using turns in a neb thing been implimented? cause i tried testing it and i attacked reavers and an encryptoin and moved in the galaxy and my neb way still there
