What do you guys think of the following idea  :wow:

A new wars server. But different. No planets. No replication tech. A galaxy half the size of the original. Intense new-round pvp and a race for first, and an attempt to keep it.

I think it would be a great idea, newbies can try for first instead of like current, and oldies can keep their other WARS server. I'm sure some of you wouldn't like to planets or rep, but got to admit, It'd be interesting.

Of course, I request that Emi pm on forums before he starts the server, so I can tell him the username/password I want for a number under (#10) if it happens   :P I'm not kidding either :P

And as for bandwidth or whatnot or however you call it, make the max players like 1,000 and if an account is inactive for a certain amount of time, delete it to make room for others.

It would be a very long time to max, but thats the fun  :wow:

Would be cool :) except for the no planets :( and it would have to have it after awhile so that when you join you got the average amount of cp, turns, and creds spent so far by everyone otherwise it will just die of like the current wars server is doing.

I like the second part, but the no planets, I'm sticking by it. It just unbalances it..This way also, you kill their ships their eco is gone, not you kill their ships their eco is hiding. Also, makes maxing a little slower.

Actually you make more from your SAB than a planet.
Also it would definitely have to have the average on CP, Turns and Credits spent.
Btw if you need room on your server Emi I don't think many people would miss PVE  :))

Just cut the inactives off, better yet, only leave the top 30 and make it a closed server  :))

Tinies need to be dealt with somehow.
I would think you could add something simple like:
if component cost>hull cost (swarm bonus = minimized) else (swarm bonus = unchanged)
I think that would take down there effectiveness quite a bit.

Yeah something like that should do it.
I think it would even make it a bit easier for new player to design then cause they wouldn't be able to make quite as bad of ships lol.

good idea overall. i still think one of the other ideas for a deathmatch type server or something like that would be even cooler. or the one where there are only 2 allainces and you fight for your side

Yeah I would definitely like to see the 2 alliance idea implemented first. That one sounds cool!
But this idea sounds good, especially the average thing. You would have to make sure that it is practically impossible to trade resources though, or else you risk people making alts to feed themselves. No planets sounds good too  :) Maybe...eliminate cloak on stations, increase station stats, decrease research reqs? That would make it hard to kill stations, although not impossible, so the galaxy doesn't get clogged up like it did this round. Just my .02

I Haven't played on the wars server, but this sounds interesting.

Particularly like the 2 alliances approach but think you would have to be automatically assigned to an alliance when you register. Otherwise Truth wouldn't have anyone to talk to.

I'm all for anything that strengthens the alliance strategy elements of the game on any server.

Any chance I could have 007?

Also, why not have both servers? Jess's alliance/deathmatch one would most likely cause some donating, and it should be more than enough to run both servers. Could even make you have to buy a seperate gold account or something, I dunno, but I'd like to see my server up  :wow:

I think both server ideas would be good, I would like to join in :D though I'm fairly horrible at fighting though I can hide and run fairly well L:)

Anyways it would be fun as that would allow those active in the wars server to join together (without the inactives) to fight and play... Plus the two alliance server would be awesome as well as it would make Team work mean something very important...

don't mean to be nasty to truth but i have to say i like jess's idea better. allthough 2 alliances aren't gonna make it. have it so that there are many alliances but each and everyone one of them have to be at declared war against another alliance. if the opponent alliance becomes inactive, the war is over and u have 24hrs to find another opponent also make it so u can have combined attacks. right now on the wars server, no one can take POF alone but if there was an option like combined attacks, even carl will have a hard time.

think about it. if u have 2 alliances u r limiting the amount of people who can play. also u r limiting the amount of people who will play because well if there is someone u don't like in bnoth of the alliances that will just make u want to mess up their lives as much as possible which will mean that a lot of people will get affected by the constant fighting between alliance members and that will just ruin the game. btw this is only one reason i m sure if i start thinking about it properly, i can think of atleast 5 more

Just want to put an end to the number calling--numbers for WARS were on a first come, first serve basis...I doubt that will change, so you can stop laying 'dibs' on numbers.

guys if you look at the original idea, the alliances could hold unlimited amount of people. so it could be 100 Vs 100 not just 20 v 20.

I'd say maybe double the number of alliances or factions to 4 or even 6. Having just 2 could be restrictive. Could call it the Deathmatch Server.
And since Emi gets 001 ID, can I have 000? :21:

Well what about having three faction/alliances. Reason for that is combat with three it will always be worry of Side B or C is allied to fight Side A or if Side A/C fighting B and all the different choices... Of course there could be more but I think the min. should be three plus there is always those who want to be loners and they could be "neutral's"/unaligned/unfactioned players who are directly support any side and thus fighting everyone... It would make the server not only like a deathmatch but also make Role Playing a part of it...

Sorry if the idea isn't good or supports this topic as I really do wish to see a new wars server on Spaceo...

I hope you aren't referring to this or you will loose your number Spayed.  :))

But I have to say I like to 2 alliance option, no choice as to what alliance you are in, its assigned automatically on registration that way the size of the factions should be similar. Leaders are by vote and there should be some territorial aspect to the game. Even if nothing more than the galaxy map (if there is one) showing systems controlled by each alliance.

sir emi. Im putting this out there for everyone to see. If you decide to do this, or another new server option, I can help with ideas, a bit of programming, advertising, and maybe even funding.

At this point though, theres no reason to even play. After I max ill just sit back on wars and check the forums vehemently. At some point ill end up throwing in the towel. Anyways, youve got a lot of enthusiastic players here with lots of ideas, take a look plz.
