Title: Specialist workers
Post by: Saturn 7 on February 25, 2009, 02:41:14 PM
Everyone seems in a rush when a new round begins to start building mines and planets etc then just sit there not doing alot.

How about introducing a new form of specialist worker....  These specialist workers would be found the same way as normal workers, but will man mines to increase production.  You could also have construction workers that actually build the mines and stations.
You could also have a new structure you could build... a training facility, this will allow you to train conventional workers into specialists.  training would of course take some time in which to produce the final product, but it will give more content and variety to the game.

Adding a whole new type of worker that is found separately from normal workers would dilute the worker pool even more. I would rather you be able to convert normal worker to be used as mining workers.

Its a interesting idea Emi would have to make the mining increase techs and rep techs to give a bonus to global production.

I don't see this getting implemented but its a interesting idea.
