Title: List of Suggestions
Post by: Kinetic on March 08, 2006, 10:19:32 AM
Here is a list i thought of after 2 days of playing i know i still have much to learn but just a few ideas.  some i dont know about myself as i kinda like the game the way it is but they are just options.

1.   Player Info: When u click on a persons name a little bit about there SO history i.e. percentage successful attacks/defends , percentage successful raids/boards.
2.   Alliance Info: When u click on a alliance picture a little bit about there SO history i.e. percentage successful attacks/defends , percentage successful raids/boards.  Who declared war on e.t.c  , at present you just have a description
3.   Armaments on your Mothership that take up segments
4.   Credits produced by your Secret Base can be used to produce as well as ships defenses for your Special base.  You cannot though use funds from elsewhere to supplement this, may make raids harder.
5.   Option to fit other systems than powercore at ‘Buy Fleet’ page.
6.   Not in an alliance so don’t know if anything like this exists at moment.  Alliance Secret Base , might make warring between alliances more fun.  Everyone can donate credits/workers , leader distributes to members when in need.
7.   For Designing ships maybe a ‘slider system’ that is dynamic so when u change one feature you can see its effect on cost instantly rather than back and forth all the time.
8.   Filter for mission rewards ‘segments/workers/credits’, also since 1 worker = 1 credit maybe make rewards for workers slightly higher.

I like 1, 6, and 8. 6 had been suggested before, and a filter for types of missions would be nice. For a newbie, that list ain't half bad. Welcome aboard.

I still like a research option in the commander section.  Using either command pts or credits to reduse cost/space, and increase stats of designs.  Oh maybe throw in a size/power ratio limit also.

ok how about

isntead of standard attack make ship design more unique and challenging by having various types of armour and weapon, so say one weapon (called say biological) is say 15% more effective against say something called (living armour), and the benefit to this living armour good be increased effectiveness against standard weapons, well u get the idea, would be a lot of work but sure would make ship design mroe challenging and people might not worry about this tinyman thing if u had more options so nothing was uber in ship design.

instead of standard marines , how about eltie marines cost more but are more effective at boarding.

when raiding and outpost maybe how much u steal is determined by how many harvesters/transpotrer ships maybe u send, still a percetnage to make it fair but increased if ur fleet includes this special unit type.

hope they havent been suggested before, they come from my experiences in other games over the years.

You've played Pardus haven't you? I don't know, that might get a little too confusing to be good. it might work, but it wouldn't be easy to implement either.

Sounds very cool.

yes...  actually, I was thinking the suggestion was coming from the game space federation, where they had something similar, 4 different kinds of attacks so 1 ship can be strong against 1, but weak against another.  you know, this WOULD be very confusing, not to mention the fact that bigger ships could possibly have 4 attacks to go through EACH in a battle report.  hmm...

See, it would get so complicated it would be like taking a class just to understand what is going on. I say leave it like it is.

kk fair point, and i think it was space federation spending hours doing research just to be uber ^^

probably would be too much, but was just a thought :p

cant wait for new round to start and see some of those new features

No one can wait, that's why we got a sturdy D-day together, so we can have those features in roughly 48 hours.

Your wish is our command BOS, lol.

Oh and btw, if you host an animation on a site like photobucket and put the web address in the web address part in your profile, you can have an animated icon!

ok, I am taking this straight from old forum, because I think it could stand another go around now, asI have had time to cook up a better way to implement it:  (but not sure how price level caps will be affected though)

---------------------------------------------------------------

you know, I was thinking, maybe you could put in a sort of mission multiplier. this is what I was thinking, to make it a little easier for those doing 100's of missions they know they will win, instead of doing them one by one, by one, by one, by one, and on and on and on, you could set it up like this:

in the mission selection screen, you have an option to use more of your turns to multiply the reward. this way, you can do 1 mission with the reward of 100 of them, taking up only 1 mission at the same time.

2 obvious advantages would be time restricted (and slow dial-uppers) don't have to go through monotonus 100's of mission, and another would be it wouldn't be having 3-4 people doing almost every single mission on the board (although I know this isn't the case in 1-10%, it still happens time to time, % range to % range)

the disadvantages however could be that this does not work with segments, (can't just use it with one 1500 segmnet mission to make a quick 1.5 mil) and the other thing is to multiply the amount of reward, it takes 10 additional turns per time, so doing 100 missions either way will yield same advantages, barring any losses of course, but the one doing multiplying will end up using twice the amount of turns. also, if the person manages to lose the mission he is multiplying, he still uses those turns he used to try to multiply the reward.

this would also make high end missions very interesting, you could take a gamble on a 100%+ mission multiplied by 100, where you may get 100X the high reward, but if you lose, you just wasted like an entire day's worth of turns entirely on single, failed mission.

---------------------------------------------------------------

as it stand now, doing a 100x multiplied mission will give same exp and crew level as non-multiplied, and difficulty raises extra per time multiplied, to account for each % going up, actually reward goes down.  just to say it now though, it would be impractical to be raising the turns needed expenontially (5, 10, 20, 40, 80)  because then you would just do 1 at a time multiplied by 2 to avoid the high extra cost.  actually...  now that I think of it gunfighter, this may work, actually.  especially since each time you go up the muliplied, the more reward you are actually getting then doing 1 by 1.  so the more extra turns you pay, the more extra credits.  just, going this way, a multiplied by ten mission would cost: 2560 turns.  kind of ridiculous to times a 1% mission by that for a 10% total reward, to spend nearly 50x more turns for it though.  na, I like it better the way I suggested.  each multiplied % you go up, the more turns by 5 you wasted.  10X you wasted like 50 turns for extra credits.

anyway, tell me what you think.  the basic idea here was to waste turns for a higher reward.

You shoudl start a thread for this topic alone, but it is a good idea.

ok, so you are saying I should create a new thread for this.  maybe it could be called: "ars's list of suggestions"  I mean, really, this IS a thread about multiple suggestions, so I figured it would be alright.  oh well, I'll move it if need be.

I meant that so more people will read it. If it is here, there is a chance less people will read it. Sorry if I confused you. It's ok to be posted here.
