Title: Hope, you like it
Post by: Seilhenker on March 22, 2008, 07:03:12 PM
I designed a beauty, I think. After days of reading and trying, I created this:

Hull : 120.000
Powercore:  23.994.721
Attack :  881.873
ACC :  63%
Hitpoints :  5.442.130
Absorb P. :  44%
Defence :  31.814
Total cost :  19.800.410

Am I good, or is it good for the rubbish bin

Edited

Hull:   120.000
Powercore:  23.994.721
Attack:   4.660.304
ACC:   53%
Hitpoints:   5.462.539
Abs:   44%
Defence is gone
Total cost:   19.800.060 cr.

Am I on the right path?

idk, the abs and acc are good but the hp and attack are pretty bad.

something around the cost of 20 mil should have at least 5 mil attack and hp, or stats adding to at least 10 mil.

i wouldn't suggest using defence if this is going to be used as a super and not a swarmer.

I have a good 11 mill design if you want it, i used it in my early days on SO main...

personally i think this would work good in huge fleets, as attack bonus would be good esp considering 63% acc. also with the defense bonus + defense being 5x now, and the hP also get a good bonus in huge fleets. but not for a starting the round ship.

I tried a bit more and read a bit more and here is a new(?) design

Hull:  120.000
Attack:   3.942.016
ACC:   50%
HP:   6.022.161
ABS:   49%
Total cost:   19.800.040cr
no more defence

Please, tell me I`m getting better :sweat

darth he was asking for others opinions on his ship designs not for you to brag about ships that you have which really are not that much to brag about in the first place :))

i wasn't really bragging, it was actually a suggestion to save up for a stronger ship design, but anyway he's design is not too bad, should be helpful for him. best of luck seilhenker

I already considered a bigger ship design, and the 99mill I spend are worth it.
Here are the details:
(After crew level +15% and increased hp)

Hull:   600.000
Attack: around 18.5 mill
HP:   26.5 mill
ACU: a beautiful 78%
ABS:  also a nice 56%
Cost:   just a bit over 99 mill

It still has some room for changes and finecalibration, but I`m pretty happy at the moment. I can finish missions without any loss.

im gonna walk you through one of my own designs.. careful.. it might make you a really good ship builder :)

ok first you should pick a price and use a calculator to get what you want. first you chose in this case 100 mill now we know that hull space is 165 credits each so you do 100 mill divided by 165 and this gives you, 606,060.60606060606060606060606061. now we round .. just take away the decimal. 606,060. ok now thats our hull. next we do the powercore. you want to make sure to leave enough space for your systems 100-150 space should do it. on mine i used 605,900 for the weight of my powercore. now to get the price down to a good lvl we do a simple calculation. take 605,900 x 400 - 5279 = 242,354,721. that number will be you energy output. this will make your powercore cost 3 credits. notice that if you increase your output the prices rises and the same the other way, so this is the best it can be. also you can use this calculation on bigger powercores later on so remember it [(weight of core) times 400 minus 5279 equals (power gen)]..  now add your shields and comps. first we will do the shields. generally i like my shields to have a weight of 8.  here are the shields i used and how to make them...

name  Weight     Buy Price     ABS     Energy
29       8             3           +29%   4,376,899
28      8            2          +28%   2,192,366
27      8            3          +27%   1,100,099

now that you have those we are going to make our computers...
name weight buy price   energy
14     8         1            2,738,833  ACU Bonus:+14%   DEF Bonus:0%

13    8        3           1,373,499  ACU Bonus:+13%   DEF Bonus:0%

12    8        1           690,833     ACU Bonus:+12%   DEF Bonus:0%

ok so now that we have all that i like to go ahead a buy my ship.. go to the buy screen and find your ship.. now since we are not done with it just buy 0 of them. this is a little trick to get it into the resupply screen and into you view\edit screen to monitor your work. so buy 0 and then add your powercore and your shields but we want more than one of each shield so when you get to the screen where you select the shields you see on the right a text box that says runs. this is just how many are going to be installed.. so we want 2 of the 29%'s, 3 of the 28%'s, and 2 of the 27%'s. that gives us 54% ABS.
now we add the comps in a similar fashion. we want 1 of the 14%'s, 3 of the 13%'s, and 2 of the 27%'s. that gives us 25% ACU. now we go to our view\ edit page and select our ship to see whats on it and how much space is left and how much energy is left.

should look something like this...

Numbers in
Fleet    Space/Ship    Marines   Space    Energ
                                            left              left
  0      606,060         0          56    216,582,632

Attack       Defence    Hitpoints    Crew Level
0       0      0       Rookie +0%
Attack accuracy    Absorb Power    SP Power    AP Power
   25 %            54%         00%           00%

ok so now we make our weapon. i like to go with a 1:2 attack to HP ratio so we take our remaining energy and divide it by 3. now i change that number a little but its mostly close so here is my weapon.
name      weight buy price  energy              attack                     acu
100 mill     1     10     72,000,000     Attack:20,529,495    ACU:50%

now go to the upgrade screen and upgrade your ship with this weapon then go back to your edit page and take the amount of weight and energy left over for your special..
name     weight buy price    energy
100 mill    55         4     144,582,632  DEF Bonus:0%    Defence:0    Hitpoints:+43378090

now upgrade that and we have a completed ship.

hull 606,060
Attack 23,606,558
Defence  0
Hitpoints  44,679,433
Attack accuracy 75 %
Absorb Power 54%
cost 99,999,949

Thanks for that, bro. That will help me getting forward a lot. And I can see that my design still needs a lot of improvement.

That little baby is for 250mill.

Attack:   22.947.460
Hp:   48.142.115
ACU:   81%
ABS:   60%

Would you suggest, to decrease ACU and ABS in order to gain more hp and attack?

Title: Re: Hope, you like it
Post by: Drackin on April 02, 2008, 12:14:45 PM
yeah a little my 250 mill has double the hp and 10 mill more attack but dont take it down too far you still need it at a reasonable lvl

Hows that?

Attack:   32.949.935
HP:   69.164.981
ACU:   79%
ABS:   58%

nice to see some new commanders spending time to learn more about designing, your getting better, keep it up, and dont hesitate to message any of the higher players in game, most can help you and are nice enough to do so

Yeah, designing superships is pretty easy, once you know how it works.
Yet, I still need some advice for swarmerdesigns. There is a lot of different stuff in here, how a swarmer should look like. Some have small hull, some more, some have defence, some have not, multiple weapons, low ACU. I know there is no best swarmer, I have to figure out by myself, which design suits my needs in the best ways. But if you could give me some hints, I will consider them.
I think, I like big hull swarmers with defence, with a fleetstrengh of 8000.
I say thanks in advance for your help and encouragment.

I did it again.

I designed.

But no supership, no.

Here are my first swarmerstats:
It is a large and expensive one with around 1mill per piece,

Attack:   506.190
Defence:   1.285
Hitpoints:   79.402
ACU:   47%

What do you say?

(forgot something)
On these stats is no bonus!

Whats the cost?

Title: Re: Hope, you like it
Post by: Chrys on April 10, 2008, 08:26:10 AM
AFB..think he mentioned that it be abt 1mill per piece..

Just my opinion?...for a mill a piece, I'd slap a shield on it. It wont exactly boost the cost by much but it does help in making it more durable.

1 x 10~25% shield would very much go a long way. Play around with it and see for yourself what you find comfy with  :21:

gads, i actually got mentioned (thank you, cam)... suppose i could post a comparative swarm ship for you to shoot for

cost: 999.920
hull: 6,060
attack: 504,393
defense: 1,285
hitpoints: 79,401
ACU%: 57%
DEF Bonus: 3%
ABS%: 35%
FP: 14,941

now you have a goal
i look forward to your ship designing skills to improve, as i desperately need a designing challenge/contest

*forgot def bonus and made a few minor adjustments

So, do you want from me to get the same stats with a price of just under 1mill?
I accept.
