Title: Planets / Tech Post by: Silence444 on March 15, 2008, 05:37:14 PM I have a question and I'm sure that it has been said, discussed and/or posted somewhere but i can't seem to find it. At any rate, my question is this: how do commander skills (such as bank contraception ban) affect colonists/workers on planets? are there any plans to change this in the near future (next month or so)?
alright thanks for reading, hope someone knows the answer. Title: Re: Planets / Tech Post by: SirEmi on March 15, 2008, 08:25:09 PM The only skill affecting planets is Planetary Combat, it improves the combat of the colonists on defense and that of marines on invasion.
I don't know if the other skills will have any effect in the future, depends on balance, we may also add new ones for the planets... Title: Re: Planets / Tech Post by: Silence444 on March 15, 2008, 08:32:21 PM k. thanks for clarifying. just needed to know b4 i took the points out of them.
on a side note... plz don't make them affect planets in the future, the tech tree needs broadening as is and it would kinda make things confusing/screw some ppl over and mess with balance (just my opinion). also... kinda related and im sure this sounds like a noob question but do planet bonuses stack when u terraform? i was kinda hoping that the values listed for each progressing lvl added on to the one b4 but rereading the descriptions it doesn't sound like they do. btw planets rule! Title: Re: Planets / Tech Post by: SirEmi on March 16, 2008, 02:55:27 AM Lvl 1 Gaia: Total bonuses: +20% capacity, +20% mining, +20% credits, -30% combat
Lvl 2 Gaia: Total bonuses: +40% capacity, +40% mining, +40% credits, -60% combat Lvl 2 Gaia +2 x 10% structures, +15% planetary combat commander: Total bonuses: +40% capacity, +40% mining, +40% credits, -25% combat Yeah bonuses stack, the stacked value is what you see in the planet interface as Total bonuses. There are no other hidden bonuses (except colonists absorb :) ), all bonuses are displayed in Total Bonuses. Some planets have rough terrain that gives them an edge in combat, starting with the toughest terrain and ending with the Gaia paradise that actually has a combat penalty. Wealth, high economy and sitting at the beach tends to make your colonists lazy in combat :) Each planet type has it's own bonuses that you can see in the planet guide: http://wiki.spaceo.net/index.php/Guide:Galaxy:Planets Here is a pic (Gaia with 15 x 10% combat structure and some commander ability): http://www.spaceo.net/scr/planet_gaia.jpg Title: Re: Planets / Tech Post by: Silence444 on March 16, 2008, 12:09:27 PM thanks for the clarification. i thought maybe each lvl was a progressing upgrade to the planet and u added one type of planet's bonus to the one prior to it bt now i realize u dont. any chance we can see planets offer a way to produce cps? (maybe with a planetary bio experiment) or heck, planetary events would be cool.
sry lol i know this is the wrong section for this but i've kinda invested a lot in planets and i'd rather not make a mistake i'll regret. Title: Re: Planets / Tech Post by: deathbymc on June 09, 2008, 11:00:51 AM hey i was wondering how many resources do u need to start a planet and for each tech lvl for the terra forming
Title: Re: Planets / Tech Post by: Chrys on June 09, 2008, 11:16:36 AM in wars..its
Planetoid Construction Carbon Stone Ice Iron Metals Gold Diamond 1000000 850000 10000 25000 25000 5000 2500 terra forming only reduces time needed to change one planet form to another. I do not think it reduces the resources needed.. Title: Re: Planets / Tech Post by: Warboss Armourfitz on June 09, 2008, 11:21:43 AM Construction efficiency does.
Title: Re: Planets / Tech Post by: deathbymc on June 09, 2008, 11:44:28 AM well i mean what resources do u need to do terraforming kus id like to have all i need before i start
Title: Re: Planets / Tech Post by: AFB on June 09, 2008, 02:50:43 PM You don't need resources for terra forming, only building.
