Title: Some improvements
Post by: SirEmi on January 06, 2008, 03:31:33 AM
SO Main:
- Counters / attack signatures display info improved. Attack signatures display the full assault / remote attack counters and remaining time now. No changes to the way they work.
- Added a link to Counters / Attacks in WAR room that goes to Attack Signatures to allow for a better management of counters / attacks.
- Added an 'Always Try' to evade option at Warp Evade settings.
- Market Items have the mouse over bonus displayed now and limit of displayed market goods at once increased from 10 to 20.
- Limited the number of auctions that can be made between the same two commanders in one day to reduce market credit transfers.

the 'always try' warp option needs to be taken off the wars server. there is no remote assault and everyone has been warping.

i attacked 4 people today, all within my range, some above some below and they all warped. before the update, i could have attacked all of them and not a single one would have warped. yesterday and the day before i also made a few attempts and they all warped. in total i count 8 warps by me alone in the past 3 days, other alliance members have reported the same...

this update really does the opposite of what many of the other posts have been trying to increase: pvp.
i have wasted sooo many turns and got nothing out of it and no action. it really brings down the wars server...

Jessie - its not supposed to increase their warp percentage, the only thing it is supposed to do is eliminate any chance to warp within a certain enemy fleetpower range.

The option is mainly if you want to stick to your base to get the base bonus.

I guess theres a chance that something has gone wrong in the code with the implementation - I havent noticed anything changing though.

My advice is tech up on warp disruptors.

err ... Emi says - Added an 'Always Try' to evade option at Warp Evade settings. Which is an option to select in the game text, "Try to evade enemy attacks by warping into deep space if attacker mothership total power is xxxxxx or more of your mothership total power."

Therefore 'Always Try' will mean you will Warp more, won't have anything to do with you sticking to a Base ... If you are meaning that is why you would set it to 400%, then I agree ... But the new option 'Always Try' to warp away, may be coding in such a way that people are ALWAYS warping, which is a bad thing and needs to be investigated.

i saw nightguard a few days ago, and given im sure he has a load of warp stabilizers, but he was over 10 times my power and still have a 45 % chance of warp

and the day before that i got warped by someone with 1.5 bil fp, 1/40 of me.

it has increased the rate at which people warp by too much.

VictoRy(#86)'s mothership spotted your attack force and warped away.
Maybe we should research more Warp Disruptors technology or try to lower our total power...
We will catch them next time.

i am really ticked off now...

a buddy nebber, probably no marines, possible a nice new ship for me and a nice 500k segs...

something has to be done

My post was a direct reply to Jessie's Tz - so I left out a bit of info - so maybe it wasnt 100% clear.

What I meant was, that the "Always Warp" option should not increase your base chance to warp - it should give you the same warp percentage as if they encountered you in deep space.

The warp percentages on the base should reduce your chance to warp away to zero if your opponent is below the selected fleetpower range - it certainly shouldnt increase your base chance to warp.

If youve noticed a big change then certainly worth raising the issue though - but the intent of the "Always Warp" option is to give you the same warp characteristics as if you were in deep space.
