Title: Noob Vs. Reavers
Post by: Endy101 on August 04, 2007, 12:41:45 PM
Hey guys.

Just started playing this game last week. Made a few mistakes learning how to play the game but getting the hang of.

Starting to feel like I'm getting a bit of a fleet together but ever 'Reaver' fleet i click on is sooo far out of my league..

I'm just wondering? What sort of numbers do I roughly need before I can take on these fleets? Do I need 250,000 well armed Barakuda MK 1's??.. or more??

I would design my own fleet of superships to take out the reavers. Id recomend getting a fleet of 3-4 fleets of 1 supership per fleet. Their combined power should be greater than 1/2 the power of the reavers you are trying to take out. Also do bother trying to take out the reavers until you have several hundred million lying around to mine or have enough segs to counteract the cost of mining. It is pointless to clear the reavers without it. If you want some designs, check out the forum or go here

Yeah, zerg is right, it's better to make your own designs/use player made ones, as the pre-made designs are pretty lame. :P

For ALL new players --- IGNORE reavers, you have absolutely no need to mine anything until you a) know the basics of the game , and b) your encrypt level is over 100 and you have lots of mining bonus items and plenty of credits.

This is mostly true but killing reavers also improves rep so if you have a negative rep you may want to kill reavers to keep from being boutied. :21:

That's not really that important at that level though...losted is right, go for encryptions first.

you just need to play more, lol. encrypt goes up the more successful encrypts you complete, has nothing to do with skill really.
