Title: VOTING REWARDS Post by: lostedchylde on February 19, 2007, 05:33:39 PM I often forget to vote days at a time. :21: maybe if voting rewards were linked to commander level or something, 15million credits is to easy to forget about when i make a billion on an encryption.
:spider2: Title: Re: VOTING REWARDS Post by: Charlemagne on February 19, 2007, 06:09:40 PM The votes are there to help new players, losted, not players who have already established themselves within the game.
Title: Re: VOTING REWARDS Post by: Argus on February 19, 2007, 06:13:34 PM I never forget to vote.
Mostly I just chose not to. :)) --- but still I'd have to oppose bigger vote rewards for people like losted and myself... The voting creds is a nice help for new commanders, and make sure you are never hopelessly lost. Its not meant to be a means for growth or even a real income once you catch your stride. Think of it as a welfare cheque. Its nice to get it if you need it... but far better to not need it at all. L:) Great way to put it Argus, personally I would oppose any "special type of voting" as it shouldnt be that hard to "remember" to vote. You either do or you dont. Title: Re: VOTING REWARDS Post by: Gunfighter Frank on February 20, 2007, 10:37:13 AM THe voting process helps SO get new players and it helps Sir Emi with any ad people that might want to support the game. if you do vote you can see that it list SO in thier pages and and the number of clicks a day they get from us thus our clicks help those pages with thier ad people which helps Sir Emi keep the game free and ad free mostly. all this bandwidth we use and the server space cost money and in order for Sir Emi to keep the game free and ad free we need to vote even if we dont get great rewards. Come on people the few people that do donate dont donate enough to keep the game going for more that a month or so if that. Realy people check it out for yourself just see how much it cost for bandwidth and server space. some of the other games I have played are full off adds and pop ups. and I really like that this game is mostly free of all that.
Title: Re: VOTING REWARDS Post by: lostedchylde on February 20, 2007, 06:34:05 PM Exactly - SO Vote. for SO. i knew it wern't welfare checks. the other game i play has hela rewards and are often the #1 game on several sites.
:spider2: Title: Re: VOTING REWARDS Post by: Lammalord on February 22, 2007, 12:04:11 AM mabey something like 15 mil and 5 command points lol.. well with 9 votes i would actally bother to vote then.. although i have to admit some of the sites to vote for are confuseing theres one were i never actally figured out how to vote lol, i just think it dose when you enter the site..
Title: Re: VOTING REWARDS Post by: Seither on February 22, 2007, 02:52:25 AM The vote rewards are affected by the overall average of players power, at least, I know it was like that a few rouds ago, I don't think Emi changed it. As more and more commanders get more power, it should go up. One round it was at like, 10B per vote and 500turns.
Title: Re: VOTING REWARDS Post by: Remfer on February 22, 2007, 12:35:24 PM :(...i always get hit down when i'm establishing myself. Even though i used to be up in the top 60 i got hit bad and i went away fer 2 days and know i was struggling to get back cause i lost all 12k segs (i had 16k and now i have like 3k)
Title: Re: VOTING REWARDS Post by: Lammalord on February 24, 2007, 09:57:36 PM yah monkey problem with that was that 1-2 guys would get real high and the votes would shoot up
Title: Re: VOTING REWARDS Post by: lostedchylde on February 26, 2007, 02:07:56 AM No reason the votes shouldn't "shoot up" - everyone benefits the same amount. angel_not
:spider2: Title: Re: VOTING REWARDS Post by: Charlemagne on February 26, 2007, 10:52:42 PM Except that 1 billion credits will mean a helluva lot more to a beginner than it will to a player whose fleet costs 10 trillion credits...
Title: Re: VOTING REWARDS Post by: davey boy on April 07, 2007, 03:01:58 PM when i get high i just vote for the turns and not creds
Title: Re: VOTING REWARDS Post by: Spayed on April 07, 2007, 09:32:56 PM yea i do the same thing dave, turns can always b usefull, but when u get up in the power the low amount of creds is not really worth it
