nothing unusual here... until you figure the ship I sent in had 70% ABS.  I dunno about the enemy ship, but it could only be up to 80%.  so how did they manage to kill SO MANY of my marines, compared to there losses???  even if there ship was 80% ABS, which I doubt, the difference in marine casualties should not have been NEARLY as high they were.  and yes, I lost all marines on the first 2 boarding attempts.  as you can see, even though they could only have had 10% more ABS then I had, they lost only 40% marines compared to what I lost.

Yea, it's acting like shad0ws has 88% abs when you do the calcs.

Weird.

Well if you have 4 bill marines attacking him with 70%   and he has 10 bill marines with 80%

4-80%= 0,8 bill you kill
10-70%= 3 bill he kills

frank is right. If ship have more marines then yours you lost more marines while boarding. And this is right, if you attack 800mil marines with 400mil marines your casualites MUST be much more.

really? Then how come I attacked a guy with 100B marines using 300B, and I lost the boarding, destroying only 25B and losing 70B? I had more marines AND 80% abs, so if he had that much, we had equal terms there.

i think marines strength is based on crew level..(just guessing)

yeah thats really weird..i had a bunch of marines boarding other ships and my marines killed less than half compare to my marines' death.

something aint right here

Maybe there's a bonus for marines who are defending their fleets

ya, going through different things, I thought each marine killed 1 other, but looking at it now, the only way to explain it is that some marines kill others more then once, like the 10B to 5B marine ships: (supposing each has 80%

10B ship                 5B   ship
5B  losses              10B losses
20% of 5B is 1B       20% of 10B is 2B

but then that would effectively mean every marine in ship A 'shot' every marine in ship B twice...

hmm... maybe its like this, the crew lvl counts as offense attack bonus and the ABS counts as hp bonus on marines. Like if a marine has a damage and hp of 1, he will do 1.33 damage if his lvl is rookie (33%), but wont be able to kill the enemy marine right away cause it has 1*1.80 hp=1.80 hp (if the ship its on has 80% ABS). dont ask how this fits with the rest of the topic, it was merely something that just struck me  :D :P L:)

It's random.
1st boarding: killed 2 bil marines, lost 1 bil
2nd boarding: killed 800 mil , lost 1 bil
3rd boarding: killed 200 mil, lost 1 bil
That last one hurt me dearly..

idk about u, but that doesnt make any sence what so ever ;)

It's not random, the only thing that is random in this game is the amount of damage your ship will do, and that has numerous peramiters on it's random number generator. So it isn't completely random either.

It may seem wrong and such, but it is right(though it sucks), and crew level doesn't effect marines, that I do know.

I've noticed that if you board in quick succession, your marines do worse and worse.  If you wait a minute or two inbetween, your marines start to do well again.  But not completely well...oh hrm...
