i have been playing this game for quiet a time but never put marines into use. wat r they used for anyway?

Well think the use of marines is the same for both main and wars servers.... firstly to protect your ships from board attacks. Second, to try and board attack an opponant, this can result in a small chance of you capturing opponants ships. And lastly, to raid and conquer planets.
They are a pretty important part of pvp!
