Hey i geuss someone wanted a thread to rate missions, instead of complaining about it how about just make one.

Label the Name of the mission

Your review

and what rating you would give it  (out of a ten point scale )



Tell if the reward is too much, too little, the turn waste, or not enough, or any other balance thing that is screwed up about the mission, don't  leave anything out the more feedback the better!

after i get a fine list of missions i will create a poll to rate the missions. your favorites or the ones with problems... hmmm wonder if emi can place on the fourms to vote -1... that or or ill place 2 options good, or bad.

hey lama, how bout having creators post here when they get a mission added in order to help with your list?

and on that note, my added missions are as follows:

Name - Just Another Nebula...
Steps - 42
Unique (Successful) Endings - 4
Primary Reward Type - Varied
Description - an open ended chance encounter with a "space gang" in a nebula
Current Rating - N/A

Just another nebulae 9/10

Pirate party 9/10

Gold transport 10/10

Risky business 9/10

Time loop 9/10

ancient commander 5/10 (reward too small for turns used)

Rebel station 6/10 (reward too small for turns used)i have too modify this i give it 9/10 as it gave me 125 turns + other stuff.

Psychic aliens 5/10  (reward too small for turns used so far, don't think ive totally completed one of these yet)

Endangered planet 9/10

Colony under fire 9/10

Deadtrus 9/10

That one was mine.
Trying to implement strategy into a Huge battle.  I haven't even got to try it yet.  I've never found it.

I'm fairly impressed with most of the new missions.  I think some could be improved and maybe stretched out a little longer.  My one pet peeve is hitting a double failure and getting kicked out.

Is there a process for updating missions after they have been added?  I've mailed e already but has anyone else run into this situation?

yes, change the notation on your completed mission from ADDED to FIN and wait for it to be added (i think).

LONGER?!?!!!  MORE TURNS?!?!??? Prophet, Are you mad??? actually most of these missions are worth the turns, though i also hate dubble fail n the boot, especially when failing seems to be entirely random and nothing to do w/skill or power.

there should be a commander skill called "Explorer" or something that that allows you to add/subtract from success and fail %s.

Reward CP or Credits

Ok this one took me about 120 turns to do and it gave me a really low reward.

It was 469.610.943.920 power and when I picked credits as my reward I got 353.382.235.300 credits

I mean it's a 10 step mission that took me 120 turns and 5 minutes of my time and I got 75% of its power in credits

The Story is decent I'll rate it as a 5 but I'll give the reward a 1/10

I would not recommend spending time on this one unless the CP reward is a lot better then the Credit reward.

Gold Transport 0/10 on pve

I have gotten through this mission 0/12 times in the last week, it always fails either while setting up the ambush or when my ships are trying to ambush them. There should just be a straight up run and gun option for this mission, none of this ambush crap.

Changing my rating for Just Another Nebula to 5/10, please fix this:

Sir... we've beaten them and are asked to stay.
Sir... we've lost and have been asked to leave.

It kind of sucks to be told you've lost when you never got a chance to fight.

um... u did fight and u failed. in order to add an element of realism to the battles (cus commanders will ALWAY have better ships then the environment) there is like a 20% chance of failure there to simulate the enemy actually having a larger fleet. losing is not a reason to rate missions poorly. they are actually supposed to be challenging.

Don't mind losing but I didn't actually lose to anything...in fact I didn't actually fight anything, thereby I can't lose, now can I?

Now if you had actually read my post and thought for a moment you might have considered that I was simply asking for a rewording of said failure, into maybe like they were too scared and ran, instead of telling me that I won and then telling me that I lost a fight I didn't fight.

bah ok i get it i will fix the mission next time i get access to a decent comp. as it stands the one im on takes several minutes to load each page in the mission creator.

sucks, another one where you spend a bunch of turns just to fail with a mission end. at least make the steps revert to the other option if you fail, not mission end.

Pirate Party

i only got rewards 1/6 of the encounter power.

the rep on these missions are crazy, one mission i got neg 59 mil and a 59 trill cred bounty, one mission later its positive 37 mil and no bounty.  :thumbsdown:

Even talking about rewards, much less basing ratings on them is ridiculous,
since it is not under the control of the author. For instance, P Party is set
up so that you fight 50% of encounter FP and to pay 100%. But in reality,
it comes out the other way around.

The only reward types that pay decently are creds and workers. Everything
else pays peanuts. Unfortunately, we did not know how that it would be
implemented when we were designing the original missions, before they
were introduced into the game. The ratings should be for Storyline and Design,
not Reward, as we have zero control over how much the rewards are.
Any mission that can double fail should be taken out and shot. Along
with their authors.

Command Decision pays decent rewards if you do not try the alien jump gate
and scavenge at that step instead. Even I have given up trying to get the
final reward. There is only a 25% chance of getting to fly the last fight, (50%
that the jump gate will work and 50% that your crew doesn't mutiny if it does work.)
which pays 100% reward in creds and has the funniest story line wording of all.

As to editing missions; yeah, in theory that's how it works. But I've had both new
missions and edits to old ones in queue for a month now. No action.

PS: Love you too BR. :) (edit) And you're right, it is RT PR, as intended. Glad you noticed. ;)

PPS. (edit) I can't believe Gold Transport isn't getting better ratings. I always give it
8/10, even when it fails. It is the only mission that you can get good rewards for FP's
too big to fly the fight step.  And two ways no less. A very well designed mission.

time loop is good but not now, it cost 80 turns to make 50. it was worth it when it gave 315 turns. but since it give lower turns the turn cost needs turned down, or else it should give you 50 turns + the ones you used.

similar those two are.) Apparently Emi just doesn't like missions that give turns and has them
set to like one in a thousand chance of spawning. Or more like one in ten thousand.

yes its been dry for sometime now, he does this to try and raise donations. doesn't care if it pisses the players off or not.
