This is my first attempt at a ship design that can stand on its own. I do not have a good understanding of all the aspects of the design system yet so I was wondering if you guys could give me some feed back before I invested in one. It is not enormously over priced, but it is a quite a bit for me right now, and I would hate to find out that it will not do me any good. Any way here is what it looks like.
Space: 250.000 Attack: 13.401.175 Hit points: 8.734.680 Attack accuracy: 59 % Absorb power: 31%
Total cost is: 41,250,025
Go easy on me this is my first try, if it totally sucks let me know.

Is hp worth more than attack??
Why switch them around??
I do not mind doing it I am just curious as to why you want a higher hp. I do not entierly get the battle system, but with the missions I have been on I have never gotten enough damage done to me to even put a dent in the 8 million hp.

Is this better? Space: 250.000 Attack: 6.750.771 Hit points: 15.471.859 Attack accuracy: 59 % Absorb power: 31% Total cost is: 41.250.025 It costs 3 more credits , but has 6,650,404 less attack, and 6,737,179 more health.

that is a pretty decent design. HP is a better investment because as ships survive through missions/encrypts/attacks, they gain exp, which gives them bonus to attack and def.
Therefore, with higher HP = Higher chance to survive = ship promotions = boosted attack rating.

Okay, that makes more sense then. , I am glad to know the design is not total crap. , it is going to be a bit expensive for me right now, as I am just now getting used to the economy of the game. I had noticed when running missions though that the battle ships the game started me with could be made way more effective, and where never dieing compared to the swarm ships that I got started with sucking all around. So I figured I would try my hand at something I could afford reasonably, but would server me better than the POS ships the game gives you.

how much does the weapon, special, shields, computer, etc.... cost? (and i completely agree with you about the starting ship the game give you )

okay here is a brake down of the costs.
Armor: 15 Computer: 1 Powercore: 3 Shield: 3 Special: 2 Weapon: 1
I was going for a cost of 1 on everything, but obviously I did not manage that. I figured that the hull of the ship should be the majority of your cost. As it is the only thing you can not optimize cost on, and the price tag is a big ticket for me; because I have very little in the way of cash right now.

wow... thats really good (at least in my standards) it took me 6 months to learn to design like that

Um, u might wanna remove armour, and put it into powercore instead, u can get more HP out f t through a special.

Mobious- thank you. I was just tinkering with things, and this is what came out. AFB- Thanks for the tip. I will look at that. *edit* Wow thank you AFB that saved me the 15 credits and added 1,601,099 health to the ship. .

No problems. Armour is basically used on small swarmers, where hull isn't enough to provide for a large powercore that can sustain both weapons and specials, along with shields and comps. So if its over 1 million in cost (Generally, I really don't know the threshold) its better not to use armour.

Good to know Good to know. After getting some tips in game my ship is looking a bit different. Although I might still tinker with it some more to get a little more abs out of it.
The new improved version, and I think my final design on this ship.
