Title: DDay starting 101
Post by: ars68 on March 11, 2006, 11:31:39 AM
when you are going to try to start DDay, there are some things to remember, even though people have un-limited attacks on you, they cannot touch your reserve ships, or what credits you have on hand.  also, the credits you have on hand DOES add to your power, so by having so many credits on hand, it is IMPOSSIBLE to go below 35 million power.  good luck everyone.

yes it is true.  one only needs to look at commander Nook with no segments to speak of, no ships at all, and no workers or stash at all, and yet well over 35 mil power, in fact a couple hundred million.  goes under same thing, credits on mothership, not secret base or anything, can't be touched but raise total power.  you need a lot, mind you, for a noob, but it is still possible.

I'm going to add this to my strategy post, so even once his topic is buried people will know this great tip. Ars, you have practically wrote half of that guide!

afther DDay ends the game will have some other configurations , as i heard the power from credits will be reduced and about 90% of power will be from Fleets. ( not 100% sure thou )

that's because when I play a game, I really take note of almost everything, and try to learn from it, so literally I could write a fairly decent guide for the whole game, front to back, by myself.  it's just the way I play, so I can always help noobs in every way, even if they are only 1-2 days younger then me.

We'll cross that bridge when we come to it Admin, until then, we're gonna keep it up. (Plus, 10% from credits isn't that bad, and it's better then risking someone breaking through your defenses, tiny man or not, and taking tons of them (In D-Day, word travels at 10x the speed of light. Someone with 1 trillion credits it their stash will lose 90% of it in minutes, if not 98%-99% of it. People raid an amazing amount and quickly too (I lost about 1.3 trillion workers in 2 1/2 minutes.)
