What do you all think about naming each round in the game?  Like maybe similar to the US Superbowls, i.e. Odyssey IV

That would give a sense of progress to the game, and in the forums, we could refer to the particular DDay by its round's number.  It would also give people an idea of how long the game has been around.

Maybe someone could go back and figure out how many DDays there have been already to name this last round 1.

Just an idea/suggestion I had after playing my first DDay...

Just go to the halls of glroy man, every past D-Day is there. And I don't like that, cause for some people it would be D-Day I, but for others it's D-Day V (example, not accurate). It would be too confusing, and kinda pointless. But keep suggesting ideas, maybe others will like this one or your other ones.

Hobey ho,

Well in all fairness, as in the super bowl reference, the number represents the total games played; not the number of times a individual has played.  That would mean Terry Bradshaw is still waiting for superbowl V.  Dont really have a opinion one way or another on this, just thought Id point that out.

I know, but we have n00bs and idiots playing this and, well, we don't have too many idiots in the superbowl as far as I know. We'd have new people refering to D-Day IV as D-Day I, since it was their first, that's what I meant.

Very true... perhaps we could call them by a different name every round... I suggest that we use the name Round of the Massive Attacks for last round.  ;D lol

How about Dawn of the Tiny Man? Since that is the round it was born in.

I like the idea of descriptive names too 1.  They would provide some point of reference.

Of course, we'd need to make names for the previous rounds as well.

1st: DDay, Dawn Of Destruction
2nd: DDay, dawn of the missions
3rd: DDay, dawn of the tinyman

(I think that it. if another between 1st and 2nd, then 2nd will be 3rd, and another must be come up for actual 2nd DDay)

There are four D-Days, so how about this:

1st: Dawn of Time (First round ever)
2nd: Dawn of Destruction (this is when people actually started making big, powerful ships and getting more aggresive)
3rd: Dawn of the missions (missions were implemented here)
4th: Dawn of Tiny Man (dropped the "the", makes it sound wierd with it.)
5th: TBA

Not bad.  How about a change from D-Day and D-Day device to something more appropriate.  At the end of the D-Day we are all set back to the exact point when your account was created, therefore it is akin to going back in time.
May I suggest something to do with the Generation of a Black Hole.  If commanders create a black hole generator, theoreticaly everyone and everything would dissapear into the hole and 'pop' up in a different part of the universe at a different time (ie re-set).
Or perhaps a tempral flow disruptor which would accomplish the same thing.
I know Im getting kind of STV here, but it would add to the richness of the SO story line.  We could then name each round after a paticular Galaxy, or quadrant.

It could work. I could write the story up for it if everyone likes it.

That would be cool.

But let's not forget, no one would ever survive going through a black hole. ;D
