Commander

On the screen where you view your commander, and it says  above your Avatar "Private". How do i change this? Is it related to your account on the forums?

You change it by leveling up (it changes at 10, 20 30, and I forget the rest, I think it's 50 after that, then 70, so on and so forth) and the only thing your forum rank and that rank have in common is they use the same rank names, they are not linked together (I'm a master sergeant here, but a corporal in the game.)

So how does the ranking in the forums go up and the ingame and such?

In game it goes up by increasing your level (getting the required experience). Here it goes up by reaching a certain amount of posts.
