I was wondering if anyone here had a perfect hp formula. I'm currently using Energy*0.3-1337 but it allways gives me a price around 600$ Thanks, Mikaël Roy

Oh, weight arguments... It all depends on what component he's using to get the HP. For Specials, assuming it hasn't changed in the last several years, the optimal weight is 6. Okay, here are my numbers for specials. Use 6 space for the specials, the rest should go to energy. The equations: The equation for HP on a special with 6 space is And the equation for defense is: Make sure to round up with HP and down with defense. Supplement defense with HP in order to get the cost below ten. The amount of HP you should add is the fractional part of the equation, multiplied by five hundred. Oh, and congratulation mikael roy on reviving this thread four months to the minute from its last post. That's some nice timing.

Ya, for big enough ships, what weight you use is almost entirely non-consequential, as long as it's small.
Of course, you do have to pick a weight, so I just went with the mathematically optimal choice, because that's what OCD people do.

It certainly can be. It depends on your energy, HP, and defence. If you follow my formulae above, you should end up with a cost between 1 and 10 credits.

now just saying what is the difference from 600 credits to 1-10 credits seems kind of pointless to me. even on small ships it wont hardly make a difference? emy

As I said, it really doesn't matter much for non-swarmers: Ya, for big enough ships, what weight you use is almost entirely non-consequential, as long as it's small.
